You received a message from Marketing.  Marketing does not really know if your W-2 is available now.  They just want your business.   TurboTax does not have your W-2.   W-2’s come from employers.  There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s.   If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.   Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36   And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2!  TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU.  TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it.  It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.
I want to enter RMD information but can't right now
I used the average share value option… I will try changing it and see if that resolves the issue. Thank you for the tips… Much appreciated!

I am trying to activate the Turbotax 2025 Desktop version, and it automatically offers $0 to upgrade to online version, can you please clarify the pro and cons of Online version? Especially please clarify my below Qs?   Question 1: Online version allows only 1Federal & 1 State Filings, where as With desktop download software you can prepare and e-file up to five federal returns with their associated state returns.   If you need to file more than five returns you can file the others by mail.   The five federal e-file limit is an IRS limit.   Question 2: Once you have chosen the Online version, you cannot go back to Desktop version?   Question 3: It says the following, does it mean if you upgrade to Online version, you lose your $10 Retail Club Credit and TurboTax Advantage Benefits such as Audit Defense? *Includes one federal and state return. Additional fees apply for more returns, upgrades, and add-ons. File by April 16, 2026.$10 Retail Club credit and TurboTax Advantage benefits such as Audit Defense, do not transfer to TurboTax Online"

You’ll only see the REFILE button next to your return if you sent your return by NETFILE and you got a confirmation number from the CRA.   To do a ReFile, you'll need to sign in to your TurboTax DIY (Online) account and click the ReFile button next to that return and make the changes. (If you used the CD/Desktop version, you will need to sign in to that year and select "change a filed return."    For further details, please check  What is ReFILE? and I have filed my tax return. Can I still make changes?   In all cases, regardless of the software version used, you can do so directly in your My Account CRA and Revenu Québec, or by mail, by completing the following forms:   CRA: T1-ADJ T1 Adjustment Request https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/forms/t1-adj.html   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

> What about the other guys? Because they're all doing the same thing. Which other products do you use? I only have TurboTax. An AI assisted search of tax prep software forums found little mention of a lack of guidance for qualified distributions except for TurboTax. I am NOT talking about forms availability. I'm talking about step-by-step guidance.

It's the middle of January 2026 and Turbo Tax is still not updated or open to allow me to enter my retirement income.  Total BS!

January 15, 2026.    “This section will be ready soon. It's OK to skip this for now and work on other parts of your return.”   No, TurboTax, it is not "OK". I am stuck. SS taxable ranges from 0% to 85%, based on SS amts and IRA wdrls. Why can’t you tell me what my SS taxable amt is? You auto-billed me $70 in November. Last Year. For my convenience. For nothing.
Fidelity is sending me a1042s for a roll over I did . Can I enter this information somewhere on my turbo tax? They mistakenly sent me $3-4$ to my checking account  after the account was closed.

I really am beginning to wonder if the software will be ready for April 15 filing, or if we’ll all have to guess our taxes and file for an extension (if that functionality works).  I’m not a last-minute kind of filer, but I couldn’t do year-end optimization estimates, and as of yesterday still couldn’t get a good-enough estimate for today’s ES payment.  I’ll try again today, good thing I have some time for this.   So far, TT has been a huge let down for 2025 federal income tax planning, estimating and general input.
