I took the recommendation to switch to forms view and was able to use the Schedule C to calculate my business taxes for 2025. That said, however, I have a bookkeeping/PTIN background and was able to navigate through the form without issues. Most users need the step-by-step version so this is extremely unacceptable. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, I needed to add in my husband's retirement benefits in order to calculate our additional tax burden created by my income and low and behold, THAT FUNCTIONALITY WAS NOT AVAILABLE EITHER! Really??? The only benefit for Intuit that I can see in releasing software that is clearly not ready for the market was to capitalize on individuals like myself who need early access to tax prep software. Won't make that mistake again. I have used TurboTax for more than 15 years. Just want to give a shout out to all the responders who recommended alternative software. I will definitely be looking at other options going forward.

I have updated the software for TurboTax home and business but I still keep getting a blank screen on my computer when going through steps. I can access the forms section however. How do I fix this?

I had help preparing my 2024 taxes from a veteran advocate who entered all of my w2-g's incorrectly. He completed the filing but we could not e-file. IRS required the documents be mailed instead of e-filing. Now the taxes are complete and need to be mailed in. I want to redo my filing/entries before I actually file. Is there a way for me to remove every incorrect w2-g and re-enter them, receive a new calculation and then file? Again, for clarity, NOTHING has been sent to the IRS as of today. Thank You.

Thanks, I did find the topic. It was on this landing page and was quite obvious to see. Now it is buried and hard to find. There is really not much else to say about this total indifference and lack of customer support by Intuit. Two weeks in a row with no updates, no comments at all from Intuit. I would be out of business quite quickly if I treated my customers like this and rightly so.

My brothers and I recently learned of a stock asset where the 1099-Div amount was included on her final will and the estate has been closed. While we work through the probate process for this item, how do we account where dividends were reinvested in 2024 and 2025? It looks like maybe each of us need to correct our 1040 returns for 2024 to account for 1/3 or the dividends. Then for 2025 we can report 1/3 of the dividends when filing this year. Since the legal process will likely take several months, we’ll then need to figure out what to do in 2026 based on a judge’s decision. Is this correct? Right now we’re just wanting to get 2024 and 2025 fixed. As a side note, we’re at least getting the address changed to one of ours asap so the random person who bought the house doesn’t continue to get her dividend statements. The one time mom didn’t list a beneficiary(ies) and it’s biting us. But we’ll work through it!

No you need to file each year separately. Did you file for 2023 and 2024? Sorry, Online is only for 2025 now. Online for 2024 and prior is closed now so you can not start a new 20234 or prior return or finish one. You have to do each year separately How to prepare a prior year return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-prepare-a-prior-year-tax-return/00/25984 To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products You will need Windows 10 or Mac Ventura 13 to install it on. If you can't install the Desktop program or if you have a simple return and want to file for free, you can fill out the blank IRS forms by hand. I have links to the blank forms.

Could you have just paid the Turbo Tax fees? Who sent the notice? IRS or State? And you can't have a tax due paid from the other refund. Turbo Tax doesn't pay or send your tax due. It only transmits your bank info to the IRS. Then the IRS debits your account on the date you specified or later. It may take them longer to pull it. I don't think they ever debit your account right away as soon as you file. You need to give them time to process your return and payment. Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out. Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the IRS or state for them to take it out of your account. And the IRS or state does not update Turbo Tax when or if they get your payment.

You can start to prepare a 2025 tax return, but you cannot e-file it yet, if that is what you are trying to do. It is too early. And...do not file until you have ALL of your 2025 W-2's and 1099's. They all go on the same tax form.
You will not be able to e-file until later in January. The IRS will not begin to accept 2025 returns until very late January.
