Let's get the credit you deserve. See Deduction Allowed in Year Paid to determine if you qualify. Generally points aren't fully deducted.
To deduct 100% of your 2024 points on this tax return, you must check the box "This is a new loan on which I paid points (origination fees) in 2024" and the box "I bought or improved my main home with this loan in 2024."

Since TurboTax does not create the data object that is being imported (a W-2 in this case), TurboTax can't guarantee that the import process won't fail. Sometimes, either the creator of the W-2 makes a mistake or enters some gibberish that TurboTax doesn't ignore.
The same is true of photos - a dust spot here or a fingerprint there on the camera lens, and TurboTax might have no hope of reading the W-2 correctly.
Taxpayers must always doublecheck the forms that are being imported one way or another.

Yes, it is fine to increase withholding rather than making quarterly estimated payments. I would suggest that you make a note on your calendar to check to see where you are with the withholding around mid-year so that you can make any additional adjustments, if necessary. A great place to do this is our W-4 Calculator.
