you have to sign in or create an account with the iRS.
Step 1 – Return accepted: The tax return is processed normally regardless of whether banking information is included. Filing procedures have not changed.
Step 2 – Refund freeze: If a refund is due and no valid direct deposit information is on file, the IRS temporarily freezes the refund. It is not rejected—it is held pending taxpayer action.
Step 3 – CP53E notice mailed: The IRS sends a CP53E notice to the taxpayer’s last known address, requesting that banking information be provided within 30 days.
Step 4 – Taxpayer responds online: The taxpayer must use their IRS Online Account (for individuals) or IRS Business Tax Account (for businesses) to provide direct deposit details. For security reasons, IRS employees cannot accept banking information by phone or in person.
Step 5 – Refund released: Once banking information is provided, the refund is released via direct deposit. If no response is received within 30 days and no other issues exist, the IRS will issue a paper check after six weeks.

@PT313 wrote: It should be visible when I “preview “,,,,, I just explained to you that it isn't. The file with the signed and dated 8453, again, is saved on your computer in a location that you choose (and that file is separate and apart from your return). It does, however, get e-filed with your return provided you upload the file prior to transmitting your return. You can merge it with the PDF of your return, but it is otherwise saved by you after you print it out, sign and date it. The preview will contain an unsigned 8453.

In the interview part of California, it has a box that says HSA Contributions (adjust if necessary). I'm a full time nonresident from IL. If I leave the box with my current HSA Contribution of $8550, I don't owe any taxes. But if I change this box to 0 (which I believe is what I should do because I'm a nonresident). Than I owe $240 in taxes. Why is this? It used to be, we just adjusted the HSA contribution under "other adjustments to Income". Any help would be appreciated.

I believe IRS guidance is that fees are deductible when based on the car's/vehicle's value. The fees shown are do not appear to be based on the cars value.

Yes, here's how to get all the forms and schedules.
TurboTax Online:
Sign in to your TurboTax Account.
Scroll down to the "Your tax returns & documents" section.
Select the specific tax year you need (e.g., 2024).
Click "Add a State" (you aren't actually adding one, but this "unlocks" the return so you can access the Print Center).
In the left-hand menu, select Tax Tools > Print Center.
Select Print, save or preview this year's return.
The Key Step: Look for a checkbox or dropdown that says "Include government and TurboTax worksheets" or "All forms."
Click View/Print to generate the full PDF, which will now include every schedule (like Schedule C, D, or E) and the internal worksheets.
TurboTax Desktop:
If you used the software installed on your computer, you must open the specific program for that year (e.g., open the TurboTax 2024 app).
Open your saved .tax file.
Go to File > Print.
In the print window, select the radio button for "All forms and worksheets."
Choose "Save as PDF" to keep a digital copy with every detail.

I am having this same issue, and this response does not address the problem: "Turbotax does not show that I have an excess contribution nor does it give me the opportunity to indicate that that I withdrew the excess contribution by the due date of the return. It does, however, indicate that my husband has an excess contribution and gives him the opportunity to indicate that he withdrew it prior to the due date of the return." This causes the software to calculate a penalty on one account but not the other.

Prior versions of TurboTax permitted taxpayers to print out input information. I believe it took the form of printing out TurboTax's questions and our answers. Can users still do that?

We have tested the transfer of Form 1041 information to CA Form 541 in TurboTax Business and found calculation errors that prevent accurate results.
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue for further research. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent."
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you.
Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.
We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

The amendment can be completed using the steps below and if necessary you can use the IRS transcript for your original 2023 or 2024 tax return.
How do I amend a tax return for a prior year?
How do I amend my 2023 federal and state tax returns to correct a deduction? (may be helpful as well)
If your tax return has been accepted you might also be able to access your transcript from the IRS.
