We cannot see your tax return so we do not know who "Lori" is---but, assuming she is your spouse on a joint tax return, you can enter anything you want to use for "occupation". The IRS does not use that for anything that affects your refund or tax due. Occupation is used only for statistical purposes.

If you click on the state, the information from your federal return should repopulate to the federal side. Then you can walk back through the state questions to complete the state return.

Are you signed into your TurboTax account? If you are not signed in, there would be no connection between your membership and the program.

What steps have you taken to get the W-2 from that employer? You do not need a "2025" W-2---You need your 2024 W-2 to prepare a 2024 tax return.
Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.
TurboTax does not have your W-2. W-2’s come from employers.
You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS: It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received. It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

Generally no. This would not be considered self-employment income, and subject to SE taxes if this was a one time study and not your primary source of income.

Yes, you have until May 1st to file your extension if you are in a federally declared disaster area whose tax deadline was moved until May 1. However, you cannot e-file this. Form 4868 must be printed and mailed at this point. You can pay directly via the IRS website which is the recommended way or you can pay by check.

Are you looking at your tax return or somewhere else? If looking at your tax return is your number on line 14 is $12,918 and the number on line 15 is $524? If you are not looking at the actual form, and just looking at your refund, it is possible that you have some sort of tax credit on line 16 of your return. This would explain the difference.

TurboTax recognizes a $2,000 traditional IRA contribution through the entry of the original $2,000 Roth IRA contribution and the user indicates that $2,000 was "switched" (recharacterized) to be a traditional IRA contribution instead. This also causes TurboTax to prompt for the entry of the explanation statement required for the recharacterization. Entering the code-N Form 1099-R contributes nothing to the tax return other than producing a corresponding increase in the amount on Form 1099-R line 4a.

Since you did not get have direct deposit, the fee will not be deducted. Up to 5 Days Early into your preferred bank account
TurboTax’s Up to 5 Days Early refund delivery gives you the flexibility to have your federal refund deposited into your preferred bank account up to 5 days earlier than the date your refund would have arrived if sent from the IRS directly - for a fee. The fee would be taken out of your refund amount only if delivered at least 1 day early.
TurboTax will email you when your refund is on its way, confirming that it will be delivered to you up to 5 days early and providing you with a breakdown of your refund amount, including any TurboTax fees.

The code N Form 1099-R is correct as received. fanfare is incorrect that box 1 of this From 1099-R should have $2,000 in box 1. Make sure that you are entering each Form 1099-R as a separate Form 1099-R. The fact that entering the code-N 2024 Form 1099-R change anything on Form 8606 suggests that you are somehow combining the forms into one. Make sure that you are clicking the button to add another Form 1099-R to add the second Form 1099-R. The only effect that entering the code-N Form 1099-R properly will have is increase the amount on Form 1040 line 4a by $2,309.28. Your code-2 2024 Form 1099-R indicates a conversion of only $6,298.87 in 2024, not $8,608.15. Unless there is some other Form 1099-R that reports a conversion of the $2,309.28, these Forms 1099-R together indicate that you still had money in your traditional IRAs at the end of 2024 or that your contributions for 2024 in 2024 totaled only $6,000, not $8,000.
