Where on the site can I find the walk-through on how to apply for a payment plan with the IRS?
The interest can be deducted as investment interest to the extent of investment income.

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.   First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?  (Allow 24 - 48 hours after acceptance to look) https://www.irs.gov/refunds              Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?” Or “Rejected?” Or “Printed?”

I have overcontributed to my 401k in 2024 by $3,000 due to having 2 employers. I have earned $10 on the deferral. I have contacted my 401k administrator. They corrected the issue and returned the excess contribution of $3,000 and $10 gain attributable to the excess contribution prior Apr 15, 2025. I have adjusted the information on my W2 this way: 1. I have added $3,000 to my Federal Taxable Wages in Box 1 2. I have taken out $3,000 from Box 12 (elective deferrals to qualified plans) This then showed as income on my 1040 under line 1a and this way I am including the excess deferral in my income.  I anticipated that my employer would issue a corrected W2 to reflect the above. However, they did not. Is this OK then to report it in TurboTax this way? If not, do I have to amend my tax return to report it differently?   I realize that the gain of $10 will be reported in my miscellaneous income when I file 2025 taxes based on 1099 R I will receive.

No.  You cannot just keep track of the losses yourself.  You must file so the state/federal have record of your losses.

No one can call you from the user forum.  And....if you already e-filed, TurboTax gets no information from the IRS or your state after your e-file has been accepted.  If your returns were accepted you can track them yourself on the IRS or state refund sites.     Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.   You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.   Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?   It might be easiest to set up an account with the IRS.   IRS Individual Online Account   Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return. Just want to talk someone live and directly so I can get a clear picture of what’s going on with my taxes. Other that I’m lost because the irs automated system doesn’t help with anything I really need
Can you please clarify your question?

The CPA handling my late mother's trust fund disbursements to myself, spouse, and children filed a K-1 and for whatever reason I filed it also not knowing that he had done so.  I received his paperwork in the mail two days before tax day and so I field an extension in order to file an amendment through turbo tax but now I need to reverse all that because I wasn't even supposed to file that.  The CPA in California had already done that.  How do I go about correcting this.
