Hello, I'm in the state of CA and through 2024 I held a money market fund (FDLXX) composed of mostly treasuries   Below is the % from the official Fidelity website CUSIP, 31617H300 - 97.0032%   During the federal income tax section, I input the following >> 1099-DIV  >> Box 1a - Total ordinary dividends: $500.00  >> Do these uncommon situations apply? A portion of these dividends is U.S. Government interest.  >> 500.00 * 97.0032% = $485.016   Will turbotax automatically handle the state income tax portion or do I need to make sure to exclude the U.S. Government interest from my State income tax form? What box should I look out for when filling out the state income tax?

I had to input my credit card information, and I was charged over $200 to file my taxes, even though I didn't even get that good of a return.

You can select Switch to Free Edition instead. In the Turbo Tax Free Edition, information that you can enter is limited now.  Why do I have to upgrade from the Free Edition? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/upgrading/help/why-do-i-have-to-upgrade-from-free-edition/00/26379 Or try the IRS Free File program https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

I'm on desktop premier and this didn't work for me exactly but it got me on the right path. I wrote down the set of steps that worked for me below:   1. Open submitted tax return (your refunds should be at 0) 2. On the home screen there are several options. At the bottom, select “Amend a return that was already submitted to the IRS” 3. Scroll down to wages and income and select edit 4. Select choose what I work on 5. Select Interest and Dividends, and click Visit all 6. On the left hand side you have and window titled “Flags” and in the window it says 1099-B. Click the 1099-B. 7. Click Open form up top 8. Search for 1099-B and click Open 9. On the next screen it allows you to input a broker “Enter name of Broker” 10. Turbotax can get glitchy here. My turbo tax is broken and only allows a single letter to be entered (can be updated later). Do that or the full name if it allows and click “Create”.  11. Now it takes you to the actual tax form. For ease of use I reverted to easy step at the top. 12. Navigate to the appropriate entry and click edit 13. Add data 14. If the wrong BOX is selected (e.g. BOX C instead of BOX B) and there’s no way to fix it in the Easy Step mode, you need to go to the Forms modes and click on the Capital Asset Sales worksheet which has all the entries for your 1099-B. 15. Manually click on the box within each sale and it shows you the box options where you can switch the box type (e.g. from C to B).
I have tried leaving blank and entering 0, but it won't let me do 0 and when I leave it blank it just keeps requiring me to review.

I recently upgraded from TurboTax Deluxe to Premier within the desktop program. I was under the impression that Premier includes one free state return, but I’m still being prompted to pay $45 for the New York state return. Could you please clarify whether this is expected for the desktop version, even after upgrading? If so, is there any way to have the state return included without additional charge?
for example, i need to use Ctrl+C to continue to next page

Hi,    I helped my daughter to file tax return last year. She had a couple of thousands dollar income in 2023. My question is in tax year 2024, my daughter had 0 income. Do I need to file tax for her? She is 17 years old. I didn't claim her as dependent in the past few years.    Thanks, Sean
I don't see any menu option to preview my tax filled-in tax forms.

Do I get to credit for 1/2 of my wife's state tax withheld when married filing separately in AZ?
Tax for Crypto: I just purchase the ETH and withdraw it. I do not make any trading at all.  There is no gain or loss regarding this. Do I still need to report it in the tax?
