>For New York State you will not be able to claim those unless the your fund holds at least 50% of it's holdings in US Govt Securities. Some states only allow exemptions on dividends for those funds holding a minimum percentage, usually 50%, of government securities at the end of each quarter. Is the percentage of US Govt Holdings in the fund the same as the percentage published under the description "Percentage of ordinary dividends from U.S. government obligations" Is the percentage that US Govt Holdings comprise of the entire fund at the end of each quarter a number that's even published by mutual funds? thanks

I am not sure if that what it was called (pretty sure it wasn't "Taxcaster") but there was a great online version of Turbo Tax that in a single page asked for most of the income and credit items that the desktop version does, then gave a very close estimate of your taxes. I used to be able to use it to quickly see what my tax impact would be if say, I sold stock and took some capital gains or made a donation and took a credit. The page looked a lot like TT Desktop itself (Taxcaster doesn't) with all the categories for income and credits on the left with the same colors and iconography as the desktop product, and the running tax total on top updating automatically as you entered or removed data. Did that get moved or renamed? Or is it gone forever?

We filed our taxes last March via TurboTax Deluxe and should have been done until next year! Now I want to delete my CC. Please call or email me: [email address removed] or [phone number removed]. Please credit my card for $105.00!!! This is a public Internet forum--a user community forum, not TurboTax Support, so don't post any personal info here. But we can tell you how to reach them. Where did you see a mention of "software storage"? That's odd. Or are you an Advantage customer with a standing order for the new desktop software version each year? The new version came out yesterday. If you are an Advantage member and have paid, then you should be able to download the new 2025 software. In any case, no one can investigate your account from this user forum. You would need to phone TurboTax Support to discuss it with them. If asked, use keywords "Billing issue." Get your W-2 from your employer.
I NEED A COPY OF MY W-2 (or 1099)
W-2's come from employers. There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s.
TurboTax does not have a copy of your W-2—the Wage & Tax Statement—issued to you by your employer, (nor does TurboTax have copies of your 1099’s). Whether you entered your W-2 by keying it in yourself, importing from a payroll site or by snapping a photo using the mobile app—-TT does not have a copy of your W-2. If you saved a pdf of your completed tax return, the worksheets will show the W-2 information you entered, but not the actual W-2.
You should always save those documents for your own records. You could ask the employer(s) for copies or you can get a copy from Social Security (for a fee of $62).
To get a copy of a W-2 from Social Security https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02501
https://www.irs.gov/help-resources/tools-faqs/faqs-for-individuals/frequently-asked-tax-questions-answers/irs-procedures/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2/transcript-or-copy-of-form-w-2
You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS: It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received. It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Or you can pay the IRS $30 for an actual copy of your tax return which will include copies of your W-2’s

"....my meaning balance..."? What are you referring to?
Are you trying to check your refund status?
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024 returns is now permanently closed. The system is in transition from 2024 to 2025.
Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.
They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday

Very very soon the online system will go through a phase where your files will be temporarily locked up--so get your return filed asap.

TurboTax for 2025 has just been released. I installed it and it is still an Intel only binary. If Intuit does not continue on the macOS platform past when Apple discontinues Rosetta 2 (currently, Apple is saying Fall of 2027), I will be going to the Windows Version and will be using Parallels on the Mac to run Microsoft Windows. I will make sure I have access to the Windows download for 2024/2025/2026 and on. Parallels is an incredibly complex piece of software and they took 3 to 4 years of constant work before it was available after they had the Apple Silicon machine. The Apple Silicon binary has been available for 2 years now. In addition, they are working on a way to run Apple Intel Binaries, essentially a replacement for Rosetta 2 when it no longer works. (This doesn't mean they will actually have a product that does this, but they are currently working on it, according to customer service. That is, an earlier version of Intel macOS could run on a New Apple Silicon Mac as an app the way Windows can.)

Online is closed for 2024 and prior. If you need to open your return you need to download the tax data file ending in .tax2023 or .tax 2024 etc. and install that year's desktop program to open it on your computer. You need a full Windows or Mac computer to install the desktop program. If you paid for the Online return you can ask customer service to put the program download in your account.
