Yeah...unfortunately, it might take an expert with TTX to figure that one out.   If it goes thru the error checks at the end of the Federal section...it "might" be OK anyhow...but I'd be nervous about moving on now too.   Earlier in the tax season, there were a bunch of unnecessary Needs Review notices...but, at least for my test and real tax files (Windows Desktop software) those aren't showing anymore.

Hello. For my 2025 taxes I opted to let the IRS determine my penalty for underpayment of taxes.  Before I file, how do I go back into the software, and change my preference to allow me to use TurboTax to calculate it? I tried, but nowhere does the software allow me to make the change...
You enter the information on the TurboTax Form 1099-R exactly as shown on the Form 1099-R you received from the Payer.

Yes, you can put the Indian Health Service (IHS) on your return to claim an exemption from the health coverage mandate. If you're a member of a federally recognized tribe or eligible for IHS, you can report this in the "Health Insurance" section. This will show that you had coverage through a tribal health service.

Roth conversions are done in a particular year, not for a particular year.  The Roth conversions done in 2025 are reportable on your 2025 tax return (2025 Form 8606), not on your 2024 tax return.  The basis from your 2024 traditional IRA contribution, shown on line 14 of your 2024 Form 8606, carries forward to line 2 of your 2025 Form 8606 to be included in the basis that is applied to the Roth conversions performed in 2025.
I updated this morning, updated the summary sections showing "available now" and not change?  Going in circles.

Your donation is a Qualified Charity distribution (QCD).   While entering your form 1099-R, if you have entered a birth date which makes you older than 70 1/2 in the tax year, TurboTax will ask you if any portion of your distribution was transferred to charity. Answer Yes to that question and you can then enter the amount transferred to charity.   The code in box 7 of form 1099-R must be 7 and the box IRA/SEP/SIMPLE must be checked.   TurboTax will then reduce the taxable amount by the amount transferred to charity.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.    If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

How did you enter the unemployment income?  Did you enter it as a 1099-G or a W-2?  If you entered it as a W-2, go back to the federal income section and select income then select the trashcan and delete the W-2.     From there enter your 1099-G in the unemployment section.  If you hit next or continue after the W-2 deletion, this is the next category.   Or did you enter the 1099-G in the correct spot but have a phantom W-2 hanging out?  If so, then you can delete the phantom W-2,     From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) On the drop-down select Tools On the Pop-Up menu titled “Tools Center,” select Delete a Form  This will show all of the forms in your return  Scroll down to the form you want to delete  Select the Form  Click on Delete.  Always use extreme caution when deleting information from your tax return.  There could be unintended consequences.

for what it's worth, I deleted 3 (from my broker) of the 4 files previously imported, leaving 1 (1099-int from my bank) in it's manually entered form. This actually took me through a dialog I hadn't seen before, where it had me double check everything I imported. Note that these files are from a major brokerage firm that somehow doesn't allow automatic uploading so they are in fact pdf files. They are consolidated - meaning there are a number of 1099's in them - and tt generally has done very well gleaning accurate information. This time, however, it  also found a 1099-B that wasn't there before. So now I have 5 sections of 1099's: 1 1099-b, 1 1099-int, and 2 1099-div pulled from two consolidated pdf files that I obtained from the brokerage; and 1 1099-int section I manually entered with data from the bank. Still got the 'needs review'. Went back in and essentially performed your original four point instructions on all 5 sections - ie, blanked out fields with 0's. Still getting 'needs review'. At this point, what truly needs review is my choice to use turbotax!
