@DianeW777 RE: "In both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop for a given tax year (TY 2025 currently): The “2026 estimated tax” calculations live in the 2025 product and are based primarily on your 2025 tax, credits, and withholding. When the interview asks for 2026 expected withholding, income, etc., those inputs are: Used in certain what‑if (e.g., suggested quarterly payment amounts), But the core worksheet logic still typically anchors to 2025 tax liability and 2025 withholding as the baseline." Relying so heavily on 2025 doesn't make sense to me. In my opinion, it is clearly better to rely on 2026 estimates. And, if it's going to base so much on 2025 numbers, why bother to ask page after page of questions about 2026 and then ignore the answers? My recollection is that Turbo-Tax used to do this correctly, but for some unknown reason they have changed their approach. Re: " you are going in a reduced income situation" I didn't understand your references to a "reduced income situation."

If you have an interest in a partnership or S corporation that sustained a loss that would be reported on a schedule K-1 and you would use that schedule to enter the loss on your tax return. If you have a loss on a sole-proprietorship, that will automatically be posted to your Form 1040 when you report your self-employment income and expenses in TurboTax.

Any senior reductions (additional standard deduction or the new enhanced $6K deduction) will be automatically applied based on your birthdate. You will find Schedule 1-A included with your saved or printed tax return. There is no place in TurboTax you need to make additional entries for these deductions.
