After entering a test case into TurboTax, the program seemed to be operating correctly and gives the deduction for the IRA contribution as it should.   In order to take a closer look at the situation you described, it would be useful to have a diagnostic copy of your tax data file.  The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.     If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread.   Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:   Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return. Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left. Select Tools. Select Share my file with agent. A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us. Post the token number here.    If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:   Select Online at the top of the screen. Select Send Tax File to Agent. Click OK. Post the token number here.
Please try  12/05/2025   The program may be looking for eight digits.
Also make sure that you have entered the $200 in 2025 TurboTax if that contribution was made for 2025 rather than for 2024.

If you were paid more than your regular pay rate for those hours, the extra pay would be considered overtime. Double-time pay would be twice your regular pay rate. You might check with your employer or payroll provider to confirm how much overtime you were actually paid.    Additional Information: IRS: Treasury, IRS provide guidance for individuals who received tips or overtime during tax year 2025 TurboTax Tax Tip: No Tax on Overtime Explained: Qualified Overtime Deduction Rules for 2025
I see this page:   "Let's review what type of coverage XXXXX had in 2024"   Should this reference 2025 instead?
I made less than 100k with my wife, so why would I need to fill out a form 8959??

TurboTax does not carry forward actual Forms 8606, but, if you've used TurboTax properly, TurboTax does retain IRA basis information on its IRA Information Worksheet.  However, TurboTax will generally ask you to confirm this information when TurboTax needs to refer to that information to prepare Form 8606 in the tax return that you are preparing.  Information about your basis in nondeductible traditional IRA contributions would be present on your most recently filed past Form 8606.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
Thanks for some real info, @DoninGA . Someone should share this with the "Experts". I'd prefer a "We don't know" over the tiresome cut&pastes.

TurboTax doesn't use the entry from W-2 Box 14 because this is a memo field for your information when completing your return. After you entered the W-2 did you check the box for "Clergy" on the page "Let's check for uncommon situations"?    If so, you should have been prompted to enter your Qualifying Expenses on the next page. This is where you enter the amount from W-2 Box 14.  Answer any additional questions and continue back to the W-2 summary page.  Edit your W-2 to check if the Box 1 amount has been adjusted for your housing allowance. If not, go to Other Reportable Income to enter a negative amount for Form 1040 Line 21, but only if Box 1 is not adjusted by your housing allowance entry. You may wish to review the complete list of steps here: How do I enter a parsonage or housing allowance reported on a W-2?   Also, please note the discussion by Opus17 regarding how your wages/housing allowance should be reported to you in the future. The only form of ID that is accepted when going through the ID verification section in TurboTax is your state issued ID or drivers license.  You are not required to enter a drivers license or state ID in order to e-file your federal return.  It adds an additional layer of security, and helps process your tax return quicker, but you can skip that screen if you want to.  Some states are picky and do require an ID to be able to e-file.  If you're not able to verify your ID with the state, you may need to paper-file your state return.   The following link gives more info about this topic: Why are you asking for my driver's license or state ID?

Once a refinanced loan, always a refinanced loan.    The program will make you answer a few extra questions when a mortgage is not the original loan. The point is, was the loan you are now reporting ever altered to be more than  1. What you owed on the loan you originally took as a mortgage loan on that property 2.  What you owed on the loan you originally took as a mortgage loan and additional cash that was used to improve that same property.    (Unless the loan balance is over the limit), when someone refinances to get a better rate, the full amount of interest will count, if someone refinances for more than the original loan (takes some equity out) and uses that extra cash to improve the house, the full amount of interest will count HOWEVER if someone refinances in order to pull out cash and that cash is used for anything other than improving the house, that portion of interest on that portion of the loan cannot count towards the deduction.    It was a tax change made several years ago, and that is what the program is trying to determine from your answers to the questions in the interview.

Yes, you are correct.  You should not enter this on your federal return.
