As you go through the screens on your Virginia return, you will get to a screen Here's the income that Virginia handles differently. Under the Education section is Commonwealth Savers (Section 529) Plan. Click Start or Revisit and go through the screens to enter the information. If eligible, the 529 contribution will result in up to $4000 in deduction that will appear on the Virginia 760 return on line 13 along with any other deductions. If the 529 contribution is greater than $4000, any amount above that will get carried forward to be deducted in a future year Virginia return. An exception to the $4000 limit applies to account owners who are 70 or older - these contributions can be deducted in full.
This Virginia Voluntary Contribution website has more information on their 529 plans.

If the HSA contributions were made through the employer, then the HSA contributions will be shown on the W-2 with a code W in box 12, that is, the HSA contributions through the employer are handled automatically when you enter the W-2.
If you have other HSA contributions made directly to the HSA not through the employer, then in the HSA interview on the screen titled "Let's enter [name]'s HSA contributions", while the first line has the code W amount from the W-2, the second line "personal" contributions is where you put any direct contributions to the HSA. Be sure NOT to enter any dollars in the amount on line 1 into the amount on line 2.
Assuming that your itemized deductions are less than your standard deduction, TurboTax will automatically choose the Standard Deduction.

The QBI At Risk Op Loss entry appears under Uncommon Situations at the bottom of the Schedule C Business Summary page. You may also wish to review your business info under Business Summary. Occasionally, you'll need to revisit the topic more than once to bring up the At Risk questions.

Instead of starting over, search to see if the file saved into your return. Here are some suggestions on how to look for your file on your Mac computer.
1. Search for the File Extension
TurboTax files have specific extensions based on the tax year. In Finder, click the Magnifying Glass (top right) or press Command + Space and search for:
.tax2025 (or whatever year you are filing) ~ (Search for the tilde symbol; TurboTax often creates a temp backup file that starts with this character, e.g., ~ReturnName.tax2025).
2. Check the Default Folder
By default, TurboTax for Mac saves files in your Documents folder. Manually navigate here in Finder:
Macintosh HD > Users > [Your Name] > Documents > TurboTax
Look for any file with the TurboTax icon. If you see one, double-click it directly rather than opening the app first.
3. Use "Open" instead of the Welcome Screen
Sometimes the app's "Recent Returns" dashboard glitches after a crash.
Open TurboTax.
Ignore the blank starting screen.
Go to the top Mac Menu Bar and select File > Open.
Navigate to your Documents folder to see if the file appears in the selection window

If you did save a PDF copy of the original tax return before starting to amend, then the original return is gone.

I have to amend for a second time, every time I get to the end it keeps showing this. How do I get past this because I see no option to click on what it says.

How do I file my return by mail?
We at Intuit TurboTax want our users to be completely delighted with their experience using our products and services, and successful in their financial lives and businesses. Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon. If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab.

Why did I pay intuit $85 for their tax software that includes efile, only to be charged an additional $55 by something called SBTPG to efile at the end? Where is the value added? I’ve been using Turbo Tax many years, but I’m sorry to say their relationship with SBTPG has left a bad taste in my mouth. Good riddance to TurboTax!!!!!!

Are you sure it is not? The profit or loss from Schedule C does not appear directly on your form 1040, instead it appears on line 3 of your Schedule 1 which attaches to form 1040.

Try entering this in this manner to see if this works better.
Navigate to Federal > Deductions & Credits.
Find Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and select Sales Tax.
Choose Easy Guide when asked how you want to calculate your deduction.
The Fix: When you get to the screen for Major Purchases, enter the Item Type, Description, and Cost.
Leave the "Sales Tax Percent" field blank. 6. Only fill in the Sales Tax Paid amount (the actual dollar amount from your car's purchase order).
Note: TurboTax support specifically recommends leaving the percentage blank if the software is throwing an error, as it will use the dollar amount you provided to calculate the deduction instead of trying to validate the rate.
