Someone must materially participate.  If there are more than one individual involved in the business and you are a silent partner, then it is not appropriate to file a schedule C using Home & Business.  You have some other kind of business that needs a different kind of return.

If you are the sole owner of the business, but you hand off all activities to a manger and do nothing but collect the profits, you probably need legal and/or tax advice to make sure your business is structured appropriately for that situation.  You are more like a S-corporation where you are the 100% shareholder but someone else literally does all the work and you are completely passive.  But is that really the case?  You don't talk to clients? Hire the workers who do the work?  You don't make calls or do bookkeeping or supervise the manager who directs the business activities?  We would need to know a lot more about the business, and you may need professional guidance.

You have not asked a clear question.     Here is some information about six-digit IRS IP's.

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file.  Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.

 https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/retrieve-your-ip-pin

If that is not enough information, please post a clearly worded complete question---and remember that we cannot see your screen or your tax return.

						 Let's further clarify:

Forever Rule (Tax Free Clock) applies to earnings, which determines if earnings withdrawals are tax free. Your contributions from 20 years long been satisfied.

Conversion Clock (Penalty-Free Clock) applies to your converted principal. Determines if converted funds can be withdrawn without 10% penalty. It would govern whether the converted funds can be pulled out penalty free, not whether earnings are tax-free. Those are covered by your original Forever Rule that began 20 years ago. This rule exists solely to prevent someone under 59 1/2 from converting funds and immediately withdrawing without a early withdrawal penalty. If someone has already reached 59 1/2 or meets an qualified exception the penalty restriction no longer applies.

 Hope this helps.

What do you mean you don't materially contribute to it?  Do you have other partners?  You might need to file a separate business return for it instead of schedule C.  If you have a Single Member LLC that is not an S corp  it is a disregarded entity and you file it as self employment on schedule.  Putting money into it or withdrawing doesn't matter.  It is all yours in the first place.

TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your tax due.    TurboTax only knows if the IRS accepted your e-filed return.   Your online account will always show that you owed tax due if that was the result of the return you prepared using the software.  TurboTax gets no feedback from the IRS after you file.  TT never knows if the IRS received a payment from you.

It sounds like you -- and the CS rep -- both got confused by a marketing email.   Many users have more than one account, and the "old" accounts can trigger reminder emails about filing, paying tax due, etc.   If you know that you filed and paid your tax due, you can ignore those emails.

Check your own bank or credit card statements---that is your proof that you paid the IRS.  And check your online account with the IRS.

I signed up for DeductibleDuck this morning. Downloaded my ItsDeductible zip files and uploaded all available year’s history in about 10 minutes. Super easy.        Pretty much looks the same. I am glad to support someone making an effort at this - for $30 annually it’s seems like a no brainer.

I’m receiving texts from Turbo saying I owe for 2024. I do not owe for 2024 as I paid the irs directly. Well, I clicked on a link in my turbo texts which led to “make your quarterly payment.” At the time, I thought I was making a quarterly payment directly to the irs for 2025. I submitted payment and realized I paid the wrong entity. Turbo is trying to get me to finish the process after payment. I just need a refund. I am not going further in the process as I do not owe for 2024. Turbo’s info is not aligning with IRS. I spoke with Greg(30 yrs w/Turbo) and he could do nothing beyond the troubleshooting pages on turbo’s website—although he was lovely, he was of no help. I requested refund and was denied, so now where is my money directed to? Your pockets? It should never be this complicated. I made a mistake. A simple refund would end the madness        no refund means no business from me, my partner and some others ever again. A few may make no difference to you but America is waking up and soon Americans will NOT use companies who take advantage of the ppl.

@drdively   You just buy the Deluxe program.  2025 has not come out  yet.  Are you on the Advantage Auto renew plan?  It may be too late to change your version.  Or are you asking about downgrading 2024 to Deluxe?  Don't think you can do that.     Using Deluxe is the same as Home & Business.  You just buy and install Deluxe.  You  transfer from 2024 into 2025 the same way that you transferred  2023 into 2024.  You will need to have the tax data file ending in .tax2024 from Home&Business to transfer into 2025.

						 @Leogalvan60
