@hiway What is entered on the Form 1040 Line 13b?   New Bonus Standard Deduction (OBBB): An additional $6,000 deduction for taxpayers 65 and older. This is per eligible individual, meaning a married couple both over 65 could get $12,000. Important: This bonus deduction is temporary, lasting from 2025 through 2028. Income limitations: It phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers. The amount is calculated on Schedule 1-A, Part V, with that amount flowing to Form 1040 Line 13b   You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Once again Turbo Tax has a problem.  Yes they updated the 1099 R but it still not linking it to the tax return.  Rolled over my IRA  to a Roth but entering the information in the form does not show that it's a rollover.  Called (and waited God knows how long)  to be told they have to send the problem over to there monkees in the programming department.  Why can't they get it right the first time or at least check if there is a glitch that needs to be fixed before they roll out the update.  Good thing I'm waiting for other forms, otherwise I would be screwed.  I'm so lucky I might get another badge (for what that's worth)

Please note that the IRS does not permit the deduction of HSA contributions until you have demonstrated that you have proper HDHP coverage. So TurboTax is coded to not permit this deduction, which generally causes your refund to appear to be lower than you think it should be.   This is how the IRS wants it.   However, as soon as you go through the HSA interview and show that you have the proper HDHP coverage, then the HSA contributions will be assumed to be deductible and - other things being equal - your refund will increase.   It is not a good idea to watch the Refund Amount too closely - what is important is the final result.

JohnB5677 - thank you for the quick reply.  To reply to your points...   Regular payments and timing:  Replied on Annuity Info screen that there were periodic payments (Yes).  In my case monthly as one would expect for a pension.   IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box checked?  Left blank   The question "RMD due" I answered with "0" (zero)   I did answer it was a qualified Plan and not a 403(b).   I don't think my answers are incorrect and indicating a need for an RMD.  Leaves me incredibly confused.
How do I get there?   TT (on-line service) isn't calculating the Enhanced Deduction for Senior even though I qualify.  How do I access 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors?
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question? Where are you stuck? I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say the last step.
Found out that the Canadian version of 2025 Turbo tax will work with Windows 10, but they recommend Windows 11.   Not sure why they would they would do it that way. Should be the same for everyone.

FYI - One thing to know is if you go back to edit or view a 1099R entry it resets all the answers to the default and you need to go though ALL the questions again all the way to the very end of the retirement section, keep continuing.   They are right unless you go back.   And if you entered using Forms mode you should also go though the interview steps to catch any followup questions that need answering.
