The extra $6,000 for being over 65 is not showing up in the standard deduction calculation even though I qualify by age and income limits. When will the program update ocur?
You enter self-employment income in the Wages and Income section of TurboTax, then Self-employment. Once you add your self-employment income and expenses, the work summary sheet will populate.

Please advise as to whether you've successfully installed your 2025 TurboTax for Mac desktop product since you posted a week ago.   Please see this article for all of the Mac OS and other requirements for tax year 2025.   In the alternative, if desktop software issues occur, TurboTax Online is a browser-based option that works regardless of the specific macOS version.    In addition, for the best experience, ensure your browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) is updated to the latest version. Chrome generally works well with Mac. Clearing cache and cookies often helps as well.
I don't want to use Turbo Tax. I just want the old It's deductible back.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/charges-and-fees/help/why-can-t-i-deduct-my-turbotax-fees-from-my-refund/00/25621   If your refund is enough to cover your TurboTax fees PLUS the extra “refund processing” fee of $40 ($45 in CA) and your forms are ready then when you are in the FILE section you can choose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund by a third party bank, who will take out your fees and send you the rest of your refund after the IRS issues the refund.    Please make note that if your refund takes too long to arrive (IRS delays, etc.) then you will also be agreeing that the TurboTax fees can be extracted from your bank account even before your refund is issued by the IRS.  This comes as an unpleasant shock to many people every year.      If you can possibly pay your fees upfront using a debit or credit card, it will save you that extra fee and even more importantly, the possible aggravation and delays that are often the result of poor handling/poor customer service by that third party bank.  We see way too many instances where refunds are delayed for months when users choose refund processing. There have been lots of complaints; there are a number of things that can go wrong when you use refund processing.  I suggest avoiding that situation if at all possible.     And....you can never pay state tax due from a federal refund, so do not expect that.   The state tax due has to be paid directly to your state.     What is Refund Processing Service?     How can I see my TurboTax  fees?      https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k         Please see these links for form availability dates Federal form availability   Forms availability

What message do you get in review?  In TurboTax Desktop, go to FORMS and 'Open Form' 5695 to view the calculations.  Make sure your program is updated through the ONLINE link at the top.     If you received an email saying a form was released but you still do not see it in your TurboTax Desktop software, please be aware that while the form has been finalized, the software updates take a bit longer to be deployed. Full access will be available once the updates are fully integrated into all the software versions.    If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your  Cache and Cookies and step through the Home Energy Interview again.    @Jwall79

Perhaps you are referring to the 2210 Worksheet, Exception 3, Line 7, the information provided for the Exception 3 Worksheet (not part of line 6 on page 1). See the details described below for assistance.   Regarding Exception 3,  you should calculate the credit based on your actual income earned during each of the periods.  Because your out of state income was intermittent and did not begin until May, your credit for the first period (January 1 - March 31) would be $0.  For the second period (January 1 - May 31), you calculate the credit based only on the out of state income earned in May.  And the last period (January 1 - August 31) would include the out of state income you earned May through August. On Line 7 of the NJ-2210 Worksheet, Exception 3, you will enter the actual credit .     Based on the instructions for Exception 3, line 7, of the NJ-2210 Worksheet, you should enter the actual credit for income taxes paid to other jurisdictions applicable to each period as indicated above. 2025 NJ-2210 (Form & Instructions) @Allthethings

You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.   Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed.  Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead.    What is the rejection code or rejection message?     If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2024 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late.   Try using zero instead.   If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/where-do-i-correct-my-agi-in-turbotax-online/00/26311   If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
I am in Wisconsin and usually when one is accepted the other is also accepted the same day so just curious.

I'm thinking that there are 3 courses of action available, none of which are ideal.   - Wait until the end of the week to see if Form 5695 is available.  That's probably what I will do initially.   - Purchase a competitor's tax software, and hope it's complete and works well.   - Complete your tax return in Turbotax without form 5695, print it but don't file it.  Then print out blank form 5695 and instructions from the IRS website, as well as blanks of all the other forms needed for filing.  Fill out all forms by hand, modifying those line items that are affected by the Energy Tax Credit.  Then mail in the returns and hope for the best.  Do the same for the State return.  WHAT A PAIN this will be!   As you can see, the options go from bad to worse.  That's why I'm going to wait a few days.

I should mention I'm using Turbotax for Mac. I installed fresh on a 2nd laptop with the same results.

Probably not, unless your rebuilt vehicle is for a business, it isn't deductible.
1099-r incorrectly has a t distribution code instead of a q. how do I correct?
