Thank you for responding!   I am using Deluxe and there are no 1098 questions related to items number 5 and 6 on your list.  Maybe that is the issue, i.e., I have not answered those questions to my knowledge and cannot find them anywhere.   I have gone to the "Forms" worksheets to make sure everything is correct with no exceptions noted.  I have also re-entered the 1098 information 3-4 times and still get the same problem.

Yes, if they are all from the same casino to the same person, you can combine them in one entry by adding them box by box.

Looped in on review stage for federal tax. My 1099-r shows 100 in box 9a and error message states that it should not be entered unless total distribution is checked.  Which this is not a total distribution.  How do i proceed.  I have entered my 1099r just as is on paper. thx
I just need the number Turbo wants. I'm sure the amount of the distribution is correct. Not the amount I received but the amount of the RMD.
What version did you buy?  Deluxe or ?   Were you able to enter the code to activate it and it runs?   Sounds like you must be in Canada.

Hi @dmalma,   Yes, the new replacement given by TurboTax leaves some gaps that have much to be desired.   Deductible Duck allows you to track the donations, and we also generate a Form 8283 worksheet to help you fill out those fields instead of trying to figure out everything for yourself, which is a pain.  It's not a complete fix for the problem, since Intuit discontinued the tool that would do this for you automatically, but it does help.   Filling out Form 8283 requires a lot of data—and it’s all data that Deductible Duck is tracking.  We integrate with TurboTax Desktop using the TXF file format to send data over to your tax return.  Unfortunately, the TXF file format doesn’t support moving all of that data into TurboTax.     Here’s an article about the form worksheet, if you're interested in trying our tool. https://deductibleduck.com/docs/how-to-guides/why-we-cant-fill-form-8283/   We’re the only provider out there that gives this information, too.   If Turbo Tax ever opens up their transfer format to support more data being moved, we’ll be able to take advantage of that.  Until then, this is the workaround we have to make sure you can fill out the form.
I just want to enter my information. I put in that yes I have a 1099R then nothing shows up for me to enter information.
You can enter your Gain/Loss info in summary form in your current TurboTax Desktop return.  Here's more recent info on How to Report Crypto Transactions in TurboTax.     @ryanwilliamson

There are alternatives @twlintonen , contrary to what @JohnB5677 says here.  It's not an identical experience, though.   Deductible Duck allows you to track donations and import to TurboTax Desktop, if you want.  We built this as an alternative to ItsDeductible.  It's very similar in UX.   The import process isn't identical to what you remember for ItsDeductible, but it does get you farther than what TurboTax provides by default now.   You can read more about the process here: https://deductibleduck.com/docs/how-to-guides/import-turbotax-win-mac-desktop/   The online version for TurboTax has limitations, because Intuit doesn't allow import of PDFs for supporting documentation.  But you can read about that here: https://deductibleduck.com/docs/how-to-guides/import-turbotax-online/   I hope that helps.

Since we can not see your tax return, you can try these three options to "fix" this rental mortgage interest issue.   Option 1: The program may not allow you enter the rental interest if it thinks you already claimed that same 1098 as a personal home mortgage deduction. Open or continue your return. Under Federal tab, Click on Deductions & Credits. Check the Mortgage Interest (Form 1098) section... if your rental property's 1098 is listed there, delete it from the personal section (it's a business expense). Return to the Rental/Schedule E section, and enter the rental property's mortgage interest. Option 2: Open or continue your return. Under Federal tab, Click on Wages & Income. Scroll down to Rental Properties and Royalties (Schedule E) and click Edit/Add. Look for the "Rental Expenses" or "Expenses" summary list. If there is an existing "Mortgage Interest" line item with an amount already there, delete it. Sign out of the program, clear your browser cache, and sign back in. Now try clicking the link again.  Option 3: You can bypass the "Mortgage Interest" link entirely by using the "Other Miscellaneous Expenses" category (bottom of the expense list). Enter "Mortgage Interest per Form 1098" (for the description). Enter your interest amount. The IRS doesn't care which line of the Schedule E the interest is on, as long as it’s documented as a business expense.
