Update: I originally had the error with the QMID. Submitted my return on 1/30/2026 and it was rejected. I waited for TT to fix the error and was able to resubmit my return on 02/09/26 and it was accepted in about 20 minutes. It showed my estimated refund date to be 03/02/26, which passed with my return still sitting in accepted stage but no refund. Finally on March 17th the IRS mailed me a letter stating the QMIN is missing or incomplete. I uploaded my form this morning, 03/24/26, which I have read it could be 6-8 weeks for them to process. Quite frustrating. ☹

If you received a 1099-SA with a distribution code of '2', then early in the HSA interview, when you are asked if you used your HSA to pay for anything (as dmertz says above), and "yes", and the subsequent screens allow you to enter the 1099-SA.
Note that when the distribution code is '2', the distribution amount in box 1 (the excess you withdrew) is ignored. This is because TurboTax added it back to your Other Income (Schedule 1 (1040))the moment it saw that you had an excess contribution - this may have been in tax year 2024 or 2025. However, the earnings in box 2 should be added back to Other Income in Schedule 2 (1040) in any case.
"the instructions says "Here is what we have for you, but you can change the information"" - Yes, on the HSA Summary screen, it says this, but as you have found out, you can't change anything on this screen. Instead, you have to go back through the HSA Interview to change (most) entries.
In any case, TurboTax word usage is confusing, but this is based on how the IRS uses terminology, which is beyond confusing. For example, if you are covered by an HDHP and by Medicare, you are considered not to be covered by HDHP. This is because we are not using the HDHP at this point to pay for medical costs, but to calculate the annual HSA contribution limit. This fact is with Medicare, you can have both Medicare and an HDHP, but you can't contribute to an HSA in this case.
The 6% "penalty" (actually an excise tax) is not a penalty for having excess contributions, but for carrying over that excess to a subsequent year.

Not useful to say start over. Any other option to downgrade does not work.

I received a California Notice of Proposed Assessment for 2021 Tax Year. It lists Securities and Sch CA-Misc as incorrect. How do I get more information on what they found. The letter says they issued the notice based on information from the IRS. I used Turbo Tax for that year for both federal and state.

Taxes are now due in 3 weeks and this is still broken. I enter a perfectly valid, nonzero value of 0.00009 BTC (aka ~$10) and the software takes it upon itself to truncate the value & then assert that the now-zero value is invalid (see below). As the OP mentioned, in addition to shipping broken software, Intuit provides no proper direct support channel - apparently leaving the only solution as deliberately entering incorrect values that do not match what is on our 1099-DA. Truly baffling.

The senior deduction is automatically calculated by TurboTax based on the dates of birth you entered for each spouse.
Married couples filing separately are not eligible for the senior deduction.
The senior additional deduction is not included in the standard deduction but appears on line 37 of Schedule 1-A of your form 1040, with that amount flowing to line 13b of your form 1040.
In TurboTax Online, you can only view Schedule 1-A after registering and paying the TurboTax fee.
But you can preview your form 1040 and check line 13b of your form 1040 which includes the senior deduction among other deductions if applicable, such as the tip deduction, the overtime or the car loan interest deduction.
To preview your form 1040 in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:
Open your return
In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools
On the Tools Center page, click on View Tax Summary
In the left-hand column, click on Preview my 1040
Your form 1040 will display.
Scroll down to line 13b and you should see the amount of this deduction included in this line.

You can get a California excess SDI (State Disability Insurance) refund on your tax return when multiple employers together withhold more than the maximum mandatory contribution limit in a single calendar year. This excess is claimed as a refundable credit on your CA-540 personal income tax return.
Instead, if a single employer withheld excess SDI, then you would need to request that they contact CA EDD and request a refund of the excess tax they paid.
See this California EDD webpage for more information.
