@Byron318, @MarilynG1, About your suggestion for C++ redistributables, yes, I tried that but that did not solve the problem for me. I uninstalled all existing versions of C++ redistributables and let TT install whatever it needed in admin mode. That didn't solve the problem. I even went directly to MS website to find the latest version of C++ redistributables and installed those, but to no help. I tried this on 2 different laptops but to no avail.    Please see my detailed post at the beginning. For my case the problem was that TT didn't like the higher level of windows security settings. And the only way to revert those settings was to reformat the laptop to factory default. Once I reformatted the laptop I was able to successfully install and use TT H&B 2025. Note that TT H&B 2024 and earlier didn't have any issues with those same higher windows security settings. It was only TT 2025 (regardless of H&B, Premier, Deluxe, etc.) that had the problem.

Thanks Thomas M125! Can you tell me what forms get generated when you enter the sale in the k-1 section? I met via telephone with a turbotax expert yesterday, but turbotax experts can't see the photos I posted. The only thing she could do was to check on the 1099-B/ k-1 if anything seemed doubled up. She said it didn't seem to be. I didn't change anything: both the k-1 entries and the 1099-B info stay the same. Is there any form I should be looking at in particular for another problem besides the doubling up I was concerned about?

You only need to enter health insurance information if you had coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. If you did, you should receive Form 1095-A and must enter it on your tax return. If not, select no, you don't have a 1095-A.  For more information, see,  What health insurance info do I need to put on my tax return?
Thank you both.  I guess I will continue the Estimated payments because I know I will owe more than $1000...and I hate late fees, penalties, etc.

If you had tax-exempt municipal bond interest, from mutual funds serving multiple states, check your entries by following these steps:   In the Income section, scroll down to Interest and Dividends and click Start or Update on the 1099-DIV section Click on Edit for the 1099-DIV reporting the tax-exempt interest income If you entries are all good on the Let's get the info from your 1099-DIV click Continue Click Continue to get to the Tell us more about your exempt-interest dividends screen If you earned interest from more than one state, check the circle for that In the State dropdowns, select Maryland for the state and enter the exempt-interest earned from that state In the next State dropdown, select Multiple states and enter the remaining exempt interest to equal the total interest from box 12 of the 1099-DIV If you entered the 1099-DIV after you started the Maryland return, you should go back and delete the Maryland return and start it over again. If using the Desktop product, get to the Your State Returns page, then click File in the black banner at the top.  Select Remove State Return, then highlight the Maryland return, click Remove, then confirm that you want to delete it. If you are in the online version, click on State on the left side menu, then click the trashcan icon to the right of the Maryland return, then Yes to confirm deletion.  Click + Add another state to add Maryland back. Prepare the Maryland return again. Taking these steps should get the amount of tax-exempt interest that is taxable in Maryland to show up on line 2 of Maryland Form 502.

So, this is the first year that I've run into this problem, triggered by itemizing deductions on the fed return. I've read all of the previous replies carefully.  I'm using the Windows desktop Premier version.   I am expecting:  A recognized best answer, valid recipe for entering these AZ tax credit donations properly in TT for the Fed and AZ State forms, either through the step-by-step process or by direct form tweaking.   Why, since this seems to have been an issue for years?
I have filed with the attorney general here in Florida. This is ridiculous.

I want to thank DeTayna B. From Texas with 27 years of experience she was extremely helpful and made the process simple and quick! Great job!

Wondering if it has to do with 50% limitation when filing separately vs. 100% when filing jointly.
