Thank you Yes mine started in 2011 at $35K +. As of now, I still have $21K yet to recover, At 1K a year, I am looking at another 21 years to fully recover. Wife is in same situation. She still has $8K to recover @ $340 a year. About another 20+/- years. Not sure either one of us will ever see 100% of our recovery at this slow minimal rate. What we are wondering is, Is it law, that when we owe taxes at the end of the year, we can't apply what the IRS owes us, to that bill? Is it also law, that the recovery amount can't be increased? Who determines the recovery amount, and over what time period? Is there no appeal or examination request for this? Or is the time line, rate of recover, and recovery amount determined by law and the Simplified Worksheet? All we can do on the work sheet is properly and accurately answer the 1-18 questions, as they are asked, and based on our 1099-R's. Thank You Kindly

Previously for all other tax years and using ItsDuductible, the Date Acquired and Cost-Adjusted Basis fields for items donated like clothing, etc. were all blank. This year the form is making it mandatory and you cannot e-file through the desktop software. I already tried and paid the fee but now stuck in a loop until those fields are entered. This appears to be a bug on the form since previous years these were allowed to be blank.

You should be able to e-file after using the correct steps here. It should not have any effect on your 2026 tax return because it is not a state income tax refund, it is an inflation refund. The following steps will help with the answers when entering the New York State (NYS) inflation refund check. By using the steps below it will be subtracted from your NYS income and taxed to federal as required. Do not enter it as Other Income directly so that it will be reflected correctly on both the federal and NYS return. STEP BY STEP – NY INFLATION REFUND CHECK IN TURBOTAX (1099-G) Open your return in TurboTax > Select Federal > Wages & Income > Other Common Income > 'Refunds Received for State/Local Tax Returns' > Add or Revisit At 'Did you get a state or local tax refund in 2025?' click YES OR on the Summary screen select Add more refunds When asked about the refund you received in 2025, enter the following: State: New York Tax return year: 2023 Payments and withholding: 0 (be sure to enter the zero) Refund amount: enter full amount you received or ONLY YOUR SHARE (half if MFS) Continue. On the screen 'Let's check if your 2023 New York refund is taxable' >'Does either apply to your 2023 New York return?' Even though you took the standard deduction, select: NO (this is not a regular state refund-- Note: TurboTax will include it as taxable on your federal return while subtracting it from NYS correctly.) 'Tell us the taxable amount of your refund' Enter the dollar amount of the refund > Continue When the federal return is complete, go through your state return, then you can preview each return. If you would like to preview your form you can use the steps below. (Form 1040, Line 8z-Other Income). IT-201 will show the subtraction from NYS income. From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) Select Tax Tools On the drop-down select Tools On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040 For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms. @isoller1 [Edited: 03/31/2026 | 7:24 AM PST]

New York part year residents are taxed on all income while they were New York residents and income derived from New York sources while a nonresident. The tax is calculated by determining the total tax liability on all income (federal AGI), then prorating it based on the ratio of New York-source income to total income.
You will see the allocation ratio on the New York IT-203.

The way to "fix" it is to file by mail. Trying over and over again to do the same thing will not yield different results.

You may need to consider the information below. It's faster than you might think and you can create quick summary totals.
A solution can be to enter summary transactions if you have many transactions. Your digital asset statements should include a summary of your transactions, grouped by sales category, for example, Box A short-term covered or Box D long-term covered.
You can always use direct entry if you choose, with summary totals.

@scott_pulliam @PatriciaV Patricia, Thanks for your help and explanation on this topic. With all the other questions and automation within TurboTax in other areas, one would assume it would not be too difficult to review the number in K-1 Box 16, compare it to the stock basis on Form 7203, line 5, and determine whether there would be a capital gain. The feedback in TTAX was unclear on the requirement for a manual entry on Line 6. As a long-time user of TTAX, I expected the program to do more on this form and not require much research on my part. Your service has been great. I would suggest the programmers do a little more to help out the average person who uses the software and not expect them to fully understand every tax form. Thanks,

I suspect that you are trying to add a Form 1099-DIV on TurboTax's 1099-R form. A Form 1099-DIV must be entered under Dividends on 1099-DIV.

I spoke at length with 'IRS' who informed me i was an issue picked up with my ''filing site and not the 'IRS. Call them as they need to ix it''. I spoke at length AGAIN with 'Turbo' who told me they have come across it before but no idea how to fix it.

Most of the issues with credit card payment issues are often from billing address mismatches, browser security settings, or bank authorization issues. To resolve this in TurboTax Desktop:
Match Billing Address: Ensure the billing address on your credit card matches the mailing address in your Tax Return exactly. If not, temporarily update your "My Info" address to match the card, pay, and then update it back.
Ensure your desktop software is fully updated to the latest version.
Run as Administrator: Right-click the TurboTax icon and select "Run as Administrator" to ensure it has proper permissions.
Clear Browser Cache: Clear the cache/cookies of your default system browser, as the application uses it for secure transmission.
Disable Pop-up Blockers: Temporarily disable browser extensions or antivirus programs that might block the payment popup.
Use Another Payment Method: If the issue persists, consider using a direct debit (ACH) or paying via check.
