Sorry, Turbo Tax is doing it right. This is a common misunderstanding. If you are both over 65 and in the phaseout amount, the 6% reduction is subtracted from EACH spouse's 6,000 effectively making it 12%. Line 35 is only 6,000 . Read the line, it says....subtract line 34 from $6,000 $6,000 is the max for line 35. Because the reduction is calculated on each person's 6,000, even on a Joint return, when both spouse's are over 65. It is phased out for EACH spouse. Fill out Sch 1-A yourself and see. It's pretty easy. Then why would they even have 2 lines 36a and 36b for spouse on Schedule 1-A? IRS Schedule 1-A https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040s1a.pdf   Here is the official IRS Schedule 1-A   See IRS instructions for 1040 Schedule 1-A on page 110 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf     Here's a chart I made.........

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Here's how to get all the forms and schedules.   TurboTax Online: Sign in to your TurboTax Account. Scroll down to the "Your tax returns & documents" section. Select the specific tax year you need. In the left-hand menu, select Tax Tools > Print Center. Select Print, save or preview this year's return. The Key Step: Look for a checkbox or dropdown that says "Include government and TurboTax worksheets" or "All forms." Click View/Print to generate the full PDF, which will now include every schedule (like Schedule C, D, or E) and the internal worksheets.   TurboTax Desktop: If you used the software installed on your computer, you must open the specific program for that year. Open your saved .tax file. Go to File > Print. In the print window, select the radio button for "All forms and worksheets." Choose "Save as PDF" to keep a digital copy with every detail.

The deduction is automatically calculated by TurboTax if you qualify. The calculation will appear on Schedule 1-A page 2, Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors, which is then carried to your Form 1040 line 13b.    The maximum deduction is $6,000 for each person 65. There is a phaseout of the deduction once your income (MAGI) exceeds $75,000 for single or $150,000 for married filing jointly (MFJ). On a joint return the phaseout is calculated separately for each person.   On a joint return the phaseout is calculated separately for each person, so the 6% phases out for each spouse. This deduction is intended to provide tax relief for seniors and is in addition to the existing Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions. Expires December 31, 2028.

Amending a tax return cannot used to change bank information.   Since the account number is incorrect your bank will reject the direct deposit and return the refund back to the IRS. The IRS will then send you a CP53E notice - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp53e-notice
if you told TurboTax you would mail a check, there should be Form 1040-V. If you selected direct debit, there is no document for this payment. Other than a debit on the FI's monthly statement or online

Are you asking about a 2024 federal refund you applied to 2025?  What's on 1040 line 36 to apply?  Or is it for state?   Or are you seeing a 2024 state refund being taxed on federal?
