Yes, I do Federal + State taxes; been filing since 2019. I was not charged till 2023. This is strange. I need to look back on these transactions from the past.

"They" do not add your spouse's W-2----the user enters it. Did you forget to enter your spouse's W-2?
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
Sometimes—not always— the IRS corrects your mistakes, while they are processing your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed

I made the mistake of not checking October - December of 2025 for healthcare coverage - it turns out I was covered and I was charged a penalty for those 3 months. Where and can I update that portion when I amend tax return? I'd like to be refunded the penalty I was charged with as I live in Washington, DC.

My wife has a 1099-R showing a rollover from a 403(b) to her IRA. It is coded "G" in Box7. It seems to be properly picked up in the Federal return. However, in the NJ state return, we are being told that "a rollover of $xxxx.xx was entered for ME. Was any of this rollover to a SIMPLE IRA?" It then asks the same questions for her: "a rollover of $xxxx.xx was entered for HER. Was any of this rollover to a SIMPLE IRA?" Why is TurboTax asking if a single transaction (entered under her name) is being duplicated under my name?

DID YOU E-FILE?
Did you e-file? Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Check your e-file status:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, or just never filed, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.

It wont let me delete the Washington return. It tells me I can't when I hit delete. How do I get your program to stop trying to force me into filing a state return for Washington when Washington doesn't have one and I work in Oregon? Is this so you can charge me for an extra state return. seems like it

I too am having this exact problem with TurboTax premier 2025 desktop. I know exactly what my 2026 withholding will be (it will be a percentage of my IRA RMD), but no matter what I do TT insists on using my actual 2025 withholding when calculating my 2026 estimated taxes. I even tried creating a fictitious W-2 in that dialog (I am retired and have no actual W-2), and it was totally ignored. This problem is new to TT 2025. I have never had this problem in previous years.
