Yes. See    https://www.irs.gov/businesses/international-businesses/united-kingdom-uk-tax-treaty-documents   In particular, look at Article 17 and maybe Article 18.   We would need a little more info to provide an opinion, but usually, for a US citizen living in the US, foreign pensions are only taxed by the US. This means the UK should not take out any tax.   Unfortunately, even UK social security will not receive the somewhat reduced taxability for US social security benefits under I.R.C. 86 because they are not "a monthly benefit under title II of the Social Security Act" but are rather taxed as any other pension. See https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/26/86 For a general article about how UK pensions are taxed by the US see this article: https://www.taxesforexpats.com/country-guides/uk/uk-pension-system.html
Updates usually go out overnight on Thursdays, so I wouldn't expect it until tomorrow.

Yes, if she is renting the home out, this is considered taxable income and it will be reported on Schedule E.  If the property is rented at Fair Market Value for the area, then you would be able to claim depreciation and expenses associated with the rental of the property.  The expenses and depreciation will lower the overall reported income and could potentially result in a loss.     Be aware, if you do NOT rent it at FMV, then this can be considered personal use property and you may not be able to claim any expenses.  In this situation, you would only report the income.     When it comes to taxes, unless income is specifically exempt, it is considered taxable income.
For what it's worth, I had no success with Firefox or Brave on Mac.

Hello,   I am almost complete with the 1065 using TurboxTax Business 2025.   I noticed that on my Schedule K, that the analysis of net income is showing Nominee and not Individual Active (this is how the CPA has last years return classified) .   The Partnership is formed as an LLC where both members are Family Revocable Trusts.   The K-1's look great and reflect all the information in the same manner as previous years.      Any idea how to make this income show up as Individual Active.   I tried changing the configuration in the Partner definition section, but that just messes things up elsewhere.   Thanks in advance for any insight that can be provided.   Mike

"I have no issues with my 2024 taxes." You said that you switched to a low deductible health insurance plan in "Dec 2024", so I had to know what this meant, because it was possible that you indeed would have had issues in 2024.   But in the event, I am glad you don't.   Since there is no impact on your 2024 return, we can look at your 2025 return.   In 2025, you had no HDHP coverage, but you still need to tell TurboTax that you have an HSA, so that you can see the appropriate HSA screens for TurboTax.   You said, "fill out a removal of excess HSA funds form with Fidelity." Yes, this is correct; please do this prior to April 15th (the original due date of the return). And, yes, many HSA custodians have forms to do this online.   Are you saying that you have already received a 1099-SA? Was this for the transfer of HSA dollars from Avidia to Fidelity? If so, that's fine.   You should be getting before January of 2027 a new 1099-SA for the withdrawal of excess contributions that you are about to do (or have already done). Why so late? Because the earnings on the excess belongs on your 2026 return. The box 1 amount for the distribution will be ignored if your distribution code is '2', because TurboTax in 2026 will assume that TurboTax in 2025 took care of adding back any excess amounts.   Another thought. Since you have not made any HSA contributions to the Fidelity HSA account, they may not allow you to do a withdrawal of excess HSA contributions from their HSA account. If so, push hard (but politely), because the alternative will be expensive and awkward.   No, you do not need to do a 1040X for 2024. Just find out if Fidelity will let you do the withdrawal of excess contributions.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund   If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Found the correct file, selected it, but Continue doesn't work.   This is a 6-page thread  Ummm, 12 pages going all the way back to 12/28/25, almost 2 months. Frankly, I find it very disappointed this is still a problem. IMO, Intuit should have updated TT2025 to address and this problem so the first (or next) time the user starts TT2025, and it check for updates, the fix is automatically applied.

The IRS requires you to pay your tax as you earn it. If you paid the 110% mostly at the end of the year, the IRS deemed your earlier quarters "underpaid". If you paid the 110% in four equal, timely installments and still have a penalty, ensure that "110%" was calculated based on your total tax liability from the previous year, not just the amount you owed at filing.     Review Form 2210 to see how your penalty was calculated by quarter.    Here's more detailed info on Form 2210.   @triolo2

Actually, it's understandable that TurboTax wouldn't get too exercised about a few of us Cheesehead/Dairyman types because TurboTax is a pretty large operation according to Google's AI: "More than 100 million customers worldwide have used Intuit TurboTax, making it the most popular tax preparation software. In the U.S., it holds a 60% market share, with the platform processing 45 million tax returns in fiscal year 2023. A 2024 survey showed that 44% of Americans planned to use H&R Block or TurboTax, with 35% specifically choosing TurboTax." The $326 I paid them really just isn't enough for concern. Even if there were over 4 million of us (like there were in the class action that in 2022 recovered a $141 million settlement from Intuit/TurboTax for a case alleging deceptive practices), that probably wouldn't secure their lasting attention. Today Schwab 1099 PDF, XML and CVS finally displayed. Logged into TurboTax and imported Schwab files without issues. For future, the 3 formats have to be available before importing into TurboTax.

Just talked to Fidelity Rep. Here is what he said for each point   - about fixing the 1099-SA to make it as "Withdrawal of Excess Contribution: + calculating the earning, he cannot do that because it already passed their deadline of fixing errors for 2024 (which was April 15 2025).  He said I need to work with tax Advisor to calculate the earning and fill the form as needed.  For this one, I contributed $1,300 on 10/16/2024 and withdrew on 02/13/2025 (settled on 02/14/2025)   - about the possible $50 excess contribution made for 2025, he is going to send me the request form to get it done etc.   Your advice please

Same thing happened to me. I updated TurbTax this morning and tried (twice) and each time my WI return was rejected. I spent 30 minutes talking to a TurboTax representative who was unable to help.  I finally gave up and efiled my return directly on the WI DOR website. Hopefully that takes care of it.  After using TurboTax for 20 years or more, I am done with them. Next year I am switching to another software company.
