@mesquitebean Thanks for asking about which version. When i first posted, i had no idea the conversation went on for so long. 1. i have always bought a CD for personal installation. i wanted to always have a file to go back to if my computer crashed. I have used home and buisness, but i don't htink i did last year. It took me forever to find something about which version i purchased: TurboTax Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business. I do believe i purchased the Deluxe, but it might have been Premier. I did get a version that had more than one federal return and one free state return. 2. The last two years i was obligated to download the software onto my pc . It worked. i did not do the preparation on line. i really didn't like that. I always prefer a CD to add a program. 3. I loaded the software when it first came out in NOvember because it was an automatic ordering system. 4. I opened it to do my taxes this spring and it went through the updates as usual (i would prefer a click to say don't update if desired). 5. It had me start from teh beginning with my personal details. iThe program never asked me if i wanted to load last years forms. . I have last years forms. I save them in multiple places. The typical TT uploaded all the personal data points and prior years taxes paid, income, etc. What happened to that? 5a. i save the software under program files where it installs itself. 5b. i also save the software under my documents on C drive under turbotax. 5c. I save my completed tax forms in both places, but primarily under the C drive. in two different files. At no time did it attempt to look up my last years taxes. I always had the tax numbers listed to this years numbers in two separate columns so you could compare the differences, but also see if you missed anything or added anything. I feel like i am working blind because there are no references. For instance, in charitable contributions, last year showed the previous years donations with the new year's donations listed after you added them. but it helped you to remember all the donations you give. This year, there were no donations already listed and i had to enter each charity individually again. Again, no comparison. If this is what TT is becoming, which is less lthan helpful, i will have to find a simplier but user friendly software. Oh by the way, I was a beta tester for TT way back inthe day.Helped to find all the flaws inthe system.Too bad they don't test it now, becuase it has gotten much worse and much les user friendly. The old crew of software developers must have retired since the first TT came out.

Using Turbotax home and Business . When I enter 1065 K1 that has box 1 information ordinary business income (loss) (but not box 2 or 3) into the program, TurboTax easy step asks what type of partner I am, in this case the answer is a limited partner and then proceeds to ask what boxes of the K1 have information in it, but only for boxes 4- 20. It does not ask for the information in box 1 If the number in box 1 is a loss that comes from a lower tier partnership, should that be entered in the forms mode to keep track of passive losses or do I keep separate track of it for basis? Why does TurboTax ignore that box? It is hard to believe that the information is totally irrelevant. What am I not understanding?

TurboTax Premiere Online: Generated my California Schedule CA 540. And line 21 Other expenses: investment, safe deposit box, etc. The system entered a sum with description "Atty/Accnt". Which sounds like a fee for attorney or accountant?.. I can't find anywhere on my taxes the amount that shows in this box - besides my total Robinhood IRA contributions (which I am not able to deduct from federal because of income limits) where is line 21 sum and description come from?

Yes, it does specifically asks about panelboards, sub-panelboards, branch circuits, or feeders—, but if you look at Form 5695, it does have questions for: Line 18 Insulation or air sealing material or system. Line 19 Exterior doors that meet the applicable Energy Star requirements. Line 20 Windows and skylights that meet the Energy Star certification requirements This is all on Form 5695 (2025) - Residential Energy Credits, Part II - Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, Section A - Qualified Energy Efficiency Improvements, if you go to forms and look at it on TT, it is there. This is something that TT has omitted in their program. So how can this get reported so TT can fix the issue.

I have a 1095 A that has amounts in column A but zeros in column B for January through June. July through December has amounts in all three columns. TT says there should be an amount in column B for January through June. It won't accept the zeros that are on the Form and won't accept blanks. Suggestions?

Not quite sure what you are hoping to do. Did you already pay your fees for using TurboTax? If not, then you can simply abandon the return you started here and do nothing with it. It will not be filed. Nothing will happen with it. No one else has access to your account or to your tax return.
If you already paid TT but did not file the return you prepared, you will need to have a conversation with customer support about your fees.
No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue. If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help. Do not use the word “refund.”
