Since Indian banks do not issue 1099-INT forms, you must create a substitute or manual 1099-INT in your tax software.    Gross Interest: Report the total interest earned (before tax was deducted) in Box 1. Foreign Tax Paid: Enter the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) in Box 6 (Foreign tax paid). FATCA Box: Yes, check the box indicating you have a financial interest in a foreign financial account (often associated with Form 8938/FATCA). Conversion: All amounts must be converted to US Dollars, typically using the yearly average exchange rate or the rate on the date of the transaction. If the amount of tax reported is $300 or less ($600 if married Filing Jointly), you do not need a Form 1116.   As far as FBAR and 8938 relationship, here are the requirements for filing.   If the aggregate value of all your foreign accounts exceeds $10,000 at any point, you must report the same account on the FBAR.  For the 8938: Unmarried taxpayers living in the US: The total value of your specified foreign financial assets is more than $50,000 on the last day of the tax year or more than $75,000 at any time during the tax year   Married taxpayers filing a joint income tax return and living in the US: The total value of your specified foreign financial assets is more than $100,000 on the last day of the tax year or more than $150,000 at any time during the tax year

I answered this question in the Wages and Income section. During Federal Review, it still asked the question "Is this a Digital Asset Y/N". I answered No and clicked Continue. It then asked me the same question again. I answered No and clicked Continue again. It still keeps asking the question and I keep answering it. TurboTax won't let me file unless this question is answered but I keep answering it and it keeps asking. How do I get TurboTax to keep my answer so I can file my taxes?

My W2 has amount in Box 1 and no code or amount in box 12 (because this Medicaid waiver is new to our agency this year-next year's w-2 will be set up correct).  Agency will not issue a 2025 corrected W2.  How do I properly exempt the box 1 amount as nontaxable Medicaid waiver (IRS Rule 2014-7).  I've tried various ways and have seen it double my taxable income; also seen it not transfer to my Mass. state tax return.  Can somebody give simple instructions.  TurboTax should have been on this simple fix.
i would say securities rather than stocks. But the difference should not affect the tax benefit of the contribution.

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.     Your federal refund amount is on line 35a of your Form 1040   https://www.irs.gov/refunds

I put in my the payer zip code and it keep saying: Form 1099-R: Payer's zip is invalid for Electronic Filing. You must enter a valid ZIP code for your state. Enter a correct ZIP code in this format 'nnnnn' or 'nnnnn-nnnn'.    I tried "50392-0001" and "50392" as zip code and it would still give me that error. It would come up during the smart check run and at the end where I tried to filed. I cannot submit electronic filing because of it. Using the mac version of TurboTax.

I am having the same issue.  A separate window is opened to my bank/brokerage and I have to log on and allow them to send my data to Turbo Tax.  I get a message that it was successful but when I return to Turbo Tax nothing has been done.  Manual input is not an option.  This is one of the main reasons I use TT so I don't have to waste a lot of time doing it manually.  I'm using TT Deluxe and have been successfully using TT since at least 2008, so I'm pretty sure this isn't user error.

Thanks for the clear explanation. I called the Department of Taxation and the person I spoke with could not clearly explain the requirements.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.
