On a personal tax return, using the Standard Deduction, there may be no benefit to deducting Medicare premiums, and long-term care premiums as itemized deductions. There will be no problem if you do post them. TurboTax will calculate if itemized or the Standard Deduction are right for you. Additionally, medical expenses are only deductible if you itemize on Schedule A and they exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Different rules may apply if you are self-employed.

MY DEPENDENT SAID HE COULD NOT BE CLAIMED
Your dependent made a very common mistake often made by teenagers and students who are filing their first tax returns. In MY INFO they should have said that they can be claimed as someone else’s dependent—-but they answered incorrectly and now your e-file is being rejected.
Your dependent will have to amend their return to change the way they answered that question in MY INFO. They cannot amend until their return has been fully processed. But you do not have to wait for them to amend. Waiting will not help you at all.
You can file your return by mail, since mailed returns are not rejected. It will take longer for the IRS to process your mailed return and delay your refund.
OR….Get an IP PIN to e-file.
GET IP pin in order to e-file if your dependent’s SSN was claimed on another return

No--the little bar in TurboTax is not in sync with the IRS. TurboTax receives no information from the IRS after you file your return. The little bar in TT is only "tracking" that 21 days have nearly elapsed.
Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh
.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US
Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:
https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund
How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

Yes. In order to check the box asking if you lived abroad, you would have had to live abroad. Meaning, you would have had to establish a tax home in one of those countries and meet the definition of a resident for that country. If you were simply traveling and maintained your US home, this does not count as living abroad.
On the SS benefit worksheet where the taxable amount is calculated, a box is checked saying you lived abroad in those particular countries or are a citizen of Italy which then makes your SS tax exempt.

Please note that the state system may not reflect updates right away and might display “no record fund” even after the return has been accepted. This can happen during peak tax season, and that can delay status reporting.
If you received an email from TurboTax which says “Action Needed,” go back to your account, and in the Tax Home page, click on "Add State" (you aren't adding one; this just gets you back to your return), select Fix my Return. Then fix the rejection error and resubmit.
If you cannot fix it, you may need to choose "file by mail" to submit your return.

Ordinary traditional IRA contributions are entered under Deductions & Credits -> Retirement and Investments -> Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions. TurboTax changed the name of the SEP contribution section slightly because the SECURE 2.0 Act changed the tax code to allow Roth SEP contributions, which are not deductible, in addition to traditional deductible SEP contributions. Only the name was changed. Traditional SEP contributions are entered the same as they have always been.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

If you are not using TurboTax Expert Assist you can follow these steps:
Follow these steps to downgrade to a different TurboTax Online product:
Open your return if you haven't already.
In the left menu, select Switch Products.
Select Downgrade.
You can remove TurboTax Live as long as you haven't used the Tax Expert feature. Here's what to do:
With your tax return open, select File.
Proceed through the screens until you reach the Just a few steps left... screen, then select Start or Revisit next to Step 1: Review Your Order.
On the order summary screen, select Downgrade.
If you don't see Downgrade or already used the Tax Expert feature, you can clear your return and start over as long as you haven’t paid yet. After clearing your return, you can select the TurboTax product that best suits your needs.
Keep in mind: If you want to receive help from a tax expert, you’ll need to use TurboTax Live.

You did indeed make a mistake. Even if your wedding was on December 31, you are required to file as married for 2025.
You must wait for the original return to be fully processed before you amend. Choose the most complicated return to use when you amend. You cannot "pull" information from both of your incorrect "single" returns. One of the spouse's information will all have to be entered again from scratch.
When you start the amended return, you will start in MY INFO.
The first name entered will be the “primary” taxpayer——and in subsequent years you need to keep the names in that order—do not try to change the order of the names.
When you enter the primary spouse’s information in My Info, you have to answer the question "Were you married?" If you click the button for Married, then a drop down will appear that asks, "Do you want to file this return together with your spouse?" Then you choose YES to file a joint return. You enter your spouse's information into My Info. Whenever you are entering income information there should then be a spot for you and for your spouse's income information. WATCH for the names as you enter income on the screens. Or when you click to add income it will prompt you to choose which spouse had the income.
When you prepare a joint return you include all the information for both spouses on the SAME tax return. Include all of your personal information, all of your income from every source, all dependents (if any), all credits and deductions for both of you. You get ONE refund with both names on it.
And…keep a record of how to access the “old” account for your spouse in case a need comes up to print it or find information from it. TT will save it online for seven years,
Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)

If you deduct sales tax (not all taxpayers do this), you can add the sales tax from a vehicle, but only at the general rate. For example, if your state and local sales tax for general purchases is 5% but vehicle purchases are taxed at 6%, you can deduct 5%.
If you live in a state that charges personal property taxes based on the value of your vehicle (ad valorem), you can list those taxes a personal property taxes. You can't deduct any fee or tax that is not based on the value of the vehicle. For example, in my county, every vehicle owner is charged a flat tax of $20 plus a variable tax based on the value of my car. Only the variable tax is deductible.
In some states, this value-based tax is assessed as part of your registration fee instead of a separate tax bill from the county. You can deduct the portion of the registration fee that is based on the value of the vehicle, but not any portion that is charged the same to everyone with a similar vehicle.

A 6% penalty is for an excess contribution. When entering your traditional IRA contribution, make sur that you answer No, when TurboTax asks of you recharacterized or "switched" your contribution to be a Roth IRA contribution instead. You did not. You converted to Roth (assuming that you have no Form 1099-R with code N or code R in box 7). As baldietax said, TurboTax will also flag an excess contribution if you did not have sufficient compensation to support the traditional IRA contribution, but that seems unlikely under the circumstances.
