I'm having the same issue, this seems like too basic of an issue to have be allowed to creep into their software.

1099 imports are not ready yet.  You may have a 1099R in hand but that doesn't mean import is ready, the data sets for the import are different to PDFs and the major brokerages will release everything together.     Not sure what you are seeing and why "waited more than two days" but I just tried import for Schwab on desktop and got the following message:   According to Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. documents will be ready for import on following dates   Form 1099-B available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards   Form 1099-DIV available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards   Form 1099-INT available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards   Form 1099-MISC available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards   Form 1099-OID available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards   Form 1099-R available from Friday, 13 February 2026 at 00:00:00 PT onwards

@user17692785954    The broker has to prepare specially-formatted files for direct download into tax software.  Those files are not the same as the PDF you get, and take longer for their computer people to prepare.   Just try once a week every Saturday.    You could call Chas and ask, but many times, the reps on the phone don't know the difference between the paper/PDF files you get , and the special files needed for import into TTX, or other tax software.
I ended up just filing everything over at HR Block since they have the form available. The lack of proper updates beyond a boiler plate email is not a great look.

Correct, I received a similar response, and it is factually incorrect and not consistent with IRS guidance.  I was told that Intuit does monitor these forums and that the more community noise is generated about an issue like this, the more likely they are to fix it.   The defining date is the “acquisition date”, which is defined as a binding contract combined with a payment.  This is my interpretation of IRS guidance and seem to have broad support on all sources, but TurboTax software does not follow this guidance or allow for a check that this condition was met and categorically denies the credit even though the taxpayer qualifies.

Saturday, 24 Jan:    Apparently it is NOW available in the "Online" software now, on the Deductions & Credits page, down where you enter the Home section... Home Energy Credits.  One of the first pages asks if you had improvements or carryovers...say yes to that. ...Then...There are some pages where it asks for energy improvements made in 2025...you need to say no to those. After several pages, there is one page that asks about carryover credits...if it's pre-filled in you are probably ready to go....if not, or you want to check the number, get you form 5695 printed out form your 2024 tax return, and see what the carryover amount was supposed to be.   BUT Isn't in the Desktop software yet...perhaps mid-late in next week....Q&A will be similar.

I logged in and started my taxes, and now I'm in an "Expert Assist" upcharged product I don't want or need. When I select "Switch Products", all of the options under "Do it yourself" are grayed out. I don't want to lose the ~2.5 hours I've spent to filling out my taxes myself (I itemize deductions every year and have it figured out). If I have to start over, and TurboTax only offers a start over option after tricking my into this higher cost service, then I might as well explore other services.

Further update:  If I go to google this exact string:  "pella gmid code", get the text for V9WO, and then use windows copy to paste into TurboTax form 5695, it works OK and TurboTax does not flag the QMID code as error.  Typing in the V9WO string does not work, causes an error (see my snip above).  Perhaps this is a software bug... you might want to write up a ticket on this, as I found it extremely frustrating and I'm sure others will also.
setup 2025 drive but can't see where to change to make it default?  Any info appreciated.
