Sometimes the import of tax documents from financial institutions just doesn't work.  TurboTax can only import what is made available by the financial institution.  When this happens, you have to manually enter those documents that won't import.  If you have a lot of transactions reported on a Form 1099-B, consider reporting them by category totals instead of entering each transaction.

Make sure you entered the number exactly as it is on your driver's license, including any spaces or special characters.  If you continue to experience issues, you can try the following and then enter the number again: Go out of your program and go back in. Clear your cache and cookies. Try a different Web Browser. Also if your state does not require you to enter your driver's license number, you can skip it and continue with your return.   @Silentblades07

to DavidD66 To update my message, the date I entered NYS was 7/1/2025. I made a typo. Does your answer change? Also, I want to be able to claim out-of-state tax credits for the state I was previously a resident of (a non-reciprocal state). In my previous state of residency, I am also taxed on my wages from the state I worked, NY. Otherwise I am double taxed.  So I plan to file married filed separate to previous state and get an out-of-state tax credit for the taxes I paid to New York for the period I was a non-resident of New York. I will pay New York a full year of tax on my wages, but half of my interest and dividends. The previous state I pay half year of taxes on interest and dividends and receive an out-of-state tax credit for 6 months of wages. Previous state  is Pennsylvania. I will file married filing separate for PA and list date of resident 1/1/2025 to 6/30/2025.
"no errors on Verify. " for so many transactions, you are pretty lucky. Note:  when using Import, it's your responsibility to compare Schedule D subtotals to your broker subtotals. . @ed128
No.   Employer's 401(k) plans only accept contributions by salary deferrals and you cannot contribute for tax year 2025 after 12/31/2025.
Wow, that was quick! Thanks so much Volvo girl. Yes box 14 has the State withholding, so I will enter the other amounts into TT as you recommended.
Could you please clarify if there is a specific issue in your return that you are concerned with?

Complete insane that the 'advice' from TurboTax here is to just delete forms and information that is absolutely being provided to the IRS to get "past" the fix. Yes, that is going to be fine in 99% of cases assuming the distribution isn't tax deductible, but I sure hope TurboTax is planning to pay for any expenses associated with their customers following this "advice" if the IRS decides to make an issue of it for some people. This is OBVIOUSLY a bug in TurboTax's software that they're simply refusing to fix.
what does box 14 mean on the w2?
If that's the date you moved into the state that is the correct way to enter/answer Item G.

You may be able to find the school's federal ID number by going  to the state government agency website for incorporations and looking up the registration documentation for the school. The federal ID number is often listed there.  The incorporation information is usually available to the public.   @user17748134755
