@AllenHerkamp wrote: I need it now! Please. See my long comment to you above about how to find and download a 2024 return that was prepared in Online TurboTax.   While those steps I provided above should allow you to find and get the 2024 PDF for an online return, there is another option, if your loan company will accept it, and if you have an online IRS account, which is to download the 2024 tax return transcript from your IRS account.  That's not a copy of the actual return, but is sort of a short-hand version.  But some loan companies will take that; you'd have to ask them. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript   If you haven't established an IRS online account, it's a little bit tedious since it involves first establishing a linked log-in verification method called an ID.me account.   So I would first try to find and download the actual return from your online TurboTax account using my previous steps.

@Curt14 wrote:  Vacation loss Limitation, as I use this property myself for some weeks each year.    In the 2025 Schedule E worksheet, a total amount of Depreciation Carryover is listed in column "a"--don't know where this value is stored in the program--but the program lists only "$0" in column "c" as the amount to be entered onto the 2025 Schedule E, and the full mount of Depreciation Carryover is recorded in the Vacation Loss Limitation Column, column "d".    Ah, okay, Vacation Home limits make sense for a depreciation carryover.   To start off with, what are the number of rental days and the number of personal days in 2025?  If the number of days in 2025 DON'T classify the home as a "Vacation Home" ... I would need to research if the suspended Vacation Home carryovers are able to be used or if they are able to be applied when it is NOT classified as a "Vacation Home" this year.

Re: TT Desktop 2025   Has anyone found a workaround this major, critical, roadblock bug where for 1099-B/1099-DA type of entries that are entered manually, transaction by transaction, all can be entered using the usual very clunky interface, but then when done each and every line is tagged as "needs review". But of course clicking on it and editing does not provide any way to fix it.   The problem appears to be that Intuit has removed the description line from user entry (perhaps because it was to be autogenerated based on asset symbol/name and share #?), yet has not put in any code to automatically generate it. That leaves TT error checking stuck, as it expects a description, which is blank for all the entries. The user is left with no way to enter a description, no matter how they try.   As usual, Intuit has used some cut rate (likely AI) "developers" and hasn't done any QA on the product before rolling it out.   Has anyone found a workaround here? Or is there any way to reach a human being at Intuit and force them to stop stalling and instead acknowledge and fix this major, roadblock issue?

W-2's come from employers.   Contact your employers and ask for copies.    You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.   Other ways to get W-2’s: You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript     Pay Social Security $62 per tax year for your W-2’s.:   https://faq.ssa.gov/en-US/Topic/article/KA-02501   You cannot change the tax year.   The current online program is for 2025 only.   Only a 2025 return can be prepared online and only a 2025 return can be e-filed.   Online preparation and e-filing for 2022, 2023, and  2024 is permanently closed. Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.   To file a return for a prior tax year  If you need to prepare a return for 2022, 2023, or 2024  you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s) https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/ You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.   Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

@AllenHerkamp wrote: I need a copy of 2024 tax return for obtaining a loan for a house. If you used Online TurboTax previously and now can't find the past online returns, then you either didn't proceed far enough into your 2025 online return to find them (you don't have to actually prepare the 2025), or you could have multiple accounts. I'll discuss both scenarios below.   This answer assumes your previous returns were prepared in Online TurboTax.   Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account.  Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary.  Many people end up with more than 1 account.  The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2025 return.  I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation.   If you have not yet started a 2025 online return: Sign in to your account.   What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2025 return in that account.   If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2025 return in that account.  If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions.  Answer those preliminary questions on a few screens (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process, the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option in the left menu column.  Do not click the Documents tab.  Instead, click on Tax Home.  Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Expand that section and choose the past year you want.   If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one.  I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot.   If you have already started a 2025 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2025 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home.  If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu.  Do not use the Documents tab.  At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   If the past returns are not there, see the steps below.   If you do all that and can't find the past return, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.   To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:          Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

The actual Form 4562 that is filed with your return is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and only lists out the new assets and not the prior the items. You may have a 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report which does list all the items including fully depreciated items.   If you don't have the 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report or need more info you need the Asset Life History. The history is only available in the Desktop program not the Online version. If you are using the Online version you would have to download your .tax20yy file and open it in the desktop program.   Using the Desktop program you can get an Asset Life History worksheet but you have to do it in Forms Mode, click Forms in the upper right (upper left for Mac) You can't get detailed worksheet showing all the assets but you can get the Asset Life History on each one. It doesn't print out with your return or save in the pdf. So you have to print each Asset Life History individually. Scroll down the list of forms in your return to a Asset Entry or Asset Worksheet and open it. Then down on line 14 is a QuickZoom button to Asset Life History, Click on that.

Check for typos.   Print or view your tax return to see if there are any out of whack numbers.
