Are you using the online or desktop version? If you are using the online version, you will need to go to the print center and select all forms and worksheets. But, if you did not yet enter the interest in the interview mode you will not find Schedule 1-A.
Schedule 1-A will not be generated until you enter information that will make it pop up.
You can enter your car loan interest by selecting the following:
Deductions and credits
Cars and Other things you own
Start next to Car Loan Interest
You will need to enter the VIN and information from the lender
In order to claim this interest the following criteria must be met:
The car was purchased not leased
Final assembly occurred in the US
It is NOT a business use, but was purchased for personal use
It has a GVWR of less than 14,000lbs (car, truck, SUV, mini van or motorcycle)
Loan was originated in 2025 and must be secured by a lien on the vehicle or the title
Your income must be less than $100,000 if single or $200,000 if married filing jointly to receive the full deduction.
If your income is over $150,000 if single or $250,000 if Married filing jointly, you are not eligible
Note: The interest deduction is capped at $10,000. This is an above the line deduction, not a credit meaning it will lower your AGI and taxable income. It will not be an amount that is refunded to you, but it could result in a refund by lowering your taxable income.
If you are using the Desktop version and in forms mode, you can either do a search in the upper left hand corner to find the forms or you can take the steps above which will generate Schedule 1-A if you qualify for the deduction.

I received 1099-Qs for both my college students and they both received their 1098-T forms. We don't qualify for any of the education credits due to income and no scholarships either. This year when I went to enter the expenses, it only gave me prompts to enter book expenses but not for room and board. I went to the Forms view to enter it directly and I noticed on both worksheets that Turbo Tax entered an adjustment to the education expenses and had a $10,000 credit. I have no idea where this is coming from and why. This credit is causing some of the 529 withdrawal to be taxable. Where is this coming from and WHY! Thanks

It is always best to have the distributions made in the name of the student.
Funds can be transferred directly to the school, in which case the 1099-Q will properly be issued to the student.
This way the 1099-Q and 1098-T end up on the same tax return.
This is the way the IRS intended the forms be reported.
Sometimes the owner makes the distribution, does not claim the student, and receives the 1099-Q.
In this situation, all the taxpayer can do is report the distribution as taxable income OR claim that the distribution was used for education expenses.
There is no way that this tax return can communicate with the tax return claiming the student, therefore it's all on a type of "honor system".
The person with the 1099-Q must communicate with the student and agree which expenses are being applied to the distribution so that no one else uses those same expenses to offset their distribution or use those same expenses to apply towards an education credit.
Keep the copy of the 1099-Q, and a receipt for the expenses the distribution paid, with your tax file. Remember that the distribution can apply to Room and Board. Make sure the student is informed and no one else uses those same expenses.
If the IRS questions your distribution, or an education credit the student may claim, you will need proof of what money went to which expense.
Have future distributions made in the name of the student beneficiary.

My spouse moved from IL to NY (part time resident) and I am a fulltime NY resident. My spouse earned 1099G unemployment from the IL Dept of Employment Security (IDES). I listed this on the federal return and made sure to specify that the payer is IL. However, when I file the IL state return, it seems to be missing from the list of income to "allocate" to IL. I see all the other income sources like W2, Business income, Div, etc, but it is missing the 1099G for me to allocate, hence I am underpaying taxes based on their calculations. When I do an overview/preview of the state summary, the 1099G is also not there as well. I went back to the federal tax return and deleted the 1099G and re-added it. Not sure what I did but it gave me a warning that the payer ID is associated with an IL account and not NY unemployment and told me to just acknowledge it. I assume this means that whatever 1099G i add is automatically attributed to NY when it isn't the case. Any help is appreciated!

Yes, dmertz and @MinhT1 responses are correct. Keep the 1099-DIV in your tax file for future use, do not include it in your tax return because it belongs with the IRA account and you did not access or use the earnings from your IRA. When and if you do in the future, the income will be reported to you on a Form 1099-R.

If you are excluding the income from taxes, you are not eligible for the overtime premium deduction. If this is the case, you should just not enter the Box 14 Overtime Premium or indicate it is Other from the dropdown list.

Parent died in 2025. I am the court-appointed PERSONAL REP (box b checked when TurboTax asked). I indicated her exact date of death and spent several hours entering all of the information required for e-filing. I received one screen that said i can't e-file because "The B box is checked in Part I of Form 1310, Statement of Person Claiming Refund Due a Deceased Taxpayer." Then after the Smart Checks were completed, TurboTax says "We Recommend E-filing Your Federal Return" This is bizarre. I mailed the form 1310 to IRS already to establish a fiduciary relationship and to claim the refund as PERSONAL REP. Has anyone taken the gamble and e-filed in this situation and what was your experience?

TBM is an independent bank that processes your refund, and makes the payment to TurboTax.
They charge a fee for this.
That fee can't be paid if you request a paper check.
You have two choices:
Don't Pay with your refund, or
Make your refund go to YOUR bank, and not a paper check.

I am having the same issue. It appears I imported my 2024 tax file though from the prior desktop version. How did the issue get resolved for you from the 1-800 number? Thanks!
