The 2025 Tax Returns are supposed to allow charity deductions (up to $2000 for joint return filing) in addition to the standard deduction. There was no evident way to do this with my desktop Turbotax and I didn't see a way to do it online either. Did the software get updated for the latest IRS changes?

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.
You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. This means waiting until the payment submitted with the tax return has been processed, or your refund has been received.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment

If the file is still corrupt then I'm afraid that there's nothing to be done. You should check your computer for a .bak or .tax file to make sure there isn't a backup of the file saved somewhere. If not then you will have to re-create the file.
The IRS will definitely recognize the return as an a re-send of an original return. The TurboTax system may recognize that you have already filed because of the social security number match but it may not - if it tries to charge you again you can contact support and see if they can combine the two files.
If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.

You need to adjust your personal and rental interest amounts and allocate correctly to both sections of your return.
The Rental Portion (Schedule E)
Go to your Rental Property section first. When it asks for mortgage interest:
Enter only the 1/12 portion: $2,524 (approx).
The software will place this on Schedule E, reducing your rental income.
Now go to deductions and credits in your return to allocate the remaining portion to your home mortgage interest.

If so her AGI is on her own 2024 "Single" tax return from that year's filing...or if she was single in 2024 and didn't file at all for 2024..her AGI is a zero.
