This is an additional deduction, not included with the standard deduction. This additional deduction for seniors is calculated automatically based on the birthday you have entered in your tax return. When the system recognizes you qualify it will update the deduction onto Schedule 1-A (no additional form or input needed).
Note, this deduction has income limitations. It begins phasing out at income of $75,000 for a single filer (or $150,000 married) and is completely phased out at income of $175,000 for a single filer (or $250,000 married).
This deduction is located on Schedule 1-A Additional Deductions, Part V. The total additional deductions will be summed and appear on your 1040, line 13b.
You can check this in TurboTax Online by navigating to Tax Tools on the left of your screen, choose Tools, then View Tax Summary. On the left of the screen, select Preview my 1040, and scroll to Schedule 1-A Part V.

Ex and I agreed on oldest child dependent for him, the other two for me... so figured 75% 1095A for me and 25% for him but when i enter those numbers TT does not stop referring to that info to "check for errors". I am tempted to trust my info put in and submit but don't want it to bounce at IRS and get held up.

@careful_dragonfruit , pardon my slow-uptake.
(a) Are you saying that you rent out a property in Canada and paid taxes on income of US$2000 ?
(b) Or are you saying that while you reported this rental income on Schedule-E with your US return (form 1040), and tried to claim Foreign Tax Credit for US$2000 paid to Canada, there was no form 1116 opened because of zero tax liability even with the Schedule-E income ---- FTC being limited by being Non-Refundable Credit?
Please could you explain the situation --please

No one can call you from the user forum. That is not how things are done with TurboTax.
Luckily for you, the filter removed the personal information you posted here on a public website where your phone number could be used by a scammer or identity thief who would love to call you and pretend to be from TurboTax.
Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Your Home to see if you entered everything completely from the 1098 that was provided by your mortgage lender.

Thanks all. I called Intuit and spoke with them about this. I was told, yes, this is allowed. Up to 5 efiles and installation on my own computers is OK, even if filing for family members.

You can deduct construction loan interest on Schedule A (Form 1040) as an itemized deduction. Even without a Form 1098, you can enter the total interest paid directly into TurboTax by selecting the option indicating you did not receive a Form 1098.
Construction loans can be treated as a qualified home for up to 24 months if you eventually move in and use the property as your primary home.
To do this, you can:
Click on the Search icon at the top right of your TurboTax screen
Type 1098 in the search box
Click on the link Jump to 1098
Your screen will say Did you pay any home loans in 2025? Answer Yes
Your screen will say Who's your mortgage lender? Enter it and Continue
Your screen will ask Do any uncommon situations apply? Check the box The seller is financing this loan and I did not receive a 1098 and Continue
On the screen that says Let's get some info about XXXX now, enter the details and Continue
Your next screen says Let's get the rest of your mortgage info, answer and Continue
On the screen that says Is this loan secured by a property you own? Answer and Continue
On the screen that says What kind of property is this loan for? Answer and Continue
Continue through the rest of your TurboTax screens and answer all follow-up questions

Try a different mobile number to verify your identity
You can also use an ID stored in your digital wallet to verify your identity—available for TurboTax app
Another way to verify is to take photos of your physical Driver’s License or State ID
If that doesn’t work, follow these steps to submit an account recovery request:
Go to our account recovery website
Answer the questions
Use the QR code to take a picture of your identification: driver’s license, state ID or passport
Your case will be reviewed within one business day, though usually much quicker. You’ll receive an email from turbotax@intuit.com with the next steps. If we approve your request, you'll receive a link to reset your password.

Sometimes the IRS or your state request copies of your tax documents. Follow the instructions in the letter and send the document(s) they are asking for so that you will get your refund.

@rnad , if I understand you right --
1. you are a US Person, with a foreign ( Sweden ) tax home.
2. You are /were working for a local entity ---( or did you really mean working for a foreign govt.?)
3. You now want to take advantage of FEIE ( Foreign Earned Income Exclusion).
4. To achieve this exclusion ( up to maximum allowed for the year), you have meet one of two tests-------- Physical Presence Test or Bona-fide-Resident. Most people , who are present temporarily use the Physical Presence Test.
5. Physical Presence -- you have to be away from the US for 330 total days in test period of 12 continuous months encompassing the earning period to be excluded. Thus for example you entered the foreign country on 07/01/2025 , then your new tax-home start date is 07/02/2025 ( first full 24 day in the foreign country ). So to exclude your earnings in the foreign country from 07/02/2025 through 12/31/2025, you need a test period of 07/02/2025 through 07/02/2026. You file your return once you have met the 12 month and thereby exclude your foreign income and other costs paid by employer (like housing, cost of living adj., school help etc. etc. ) up to a total excludable amount per year.
6. In TurboTax , you enter your foreign earned income as follows: under personal income tab, choose ( I will choose what I work on", then from "Other misc. income" category select " Foreign Earned Income", this will then walk you through filling out the form 2555 and also enter the income and the exclusion amount.
Is this what you are talking about? Does this make sense ?
Do you need more help on this ?

In TurboTax Desktop, you may choose to enter IRS form 1099-DA information using the sales section totals method whose steps you outlined quite well.
You will need to mail the IRS a paper copy of the forms. TurboTax software will provide guidance how and where to mail the information.
In addition, if you select I need to adjust my total cost basis when entering information under the sales section method, the adjustment code entries can be trying for some.

This is the EXACT same problem I had today. The backup file is not empty either. Tried the fixes mentioned above applicable to desktop version with no help. I believe this is another TurboTax fatal flaw and not user error. Or it is related to the reason for revisiting the return, which is that it was submitted with the incorrect AGI for verification. Any other ideas welcome.
