Yes, you can prepare a tax return for tax year 2023. Here's a link to download the correct software. https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/2023/ Please note, however, that you are usually unable to efile older-year tax returns using Turbo Tax. You will need to print the return and mail it to the taxing authority. Our e-filing window for non-corporate and non-partnership returns goes from January to mid-October of the calendar year that immediately follows the tax year. Can I e-file 2024, 2023, or earlier tax returns?"

I'm a Connecticut (CT) resident for CT state tax purposes. In 2025 I had an internship in California for 3 months. I wonder if I need to file the income I received during my internship to both Connecticut and California for CT tax? If I understand the regulations correctly, I'm considered as CT resident and CA nonresident and need to include my CA income in all my earnings for CT tax, but only need to file CA income for CA tax. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and I would be grateful for any information on that!

There is a question that comes up after you enter the Social Security income that asks whether you (or your spouse) were US citizens living in certain foreign countries. If that question was answered with 'yes' by mistake, then your Social Security will not be included at all as taxable income. This could be the reason that the correction is being made by the IRS.

You don't have to enter Form 1095-C into your TurboTax program or attach it to your Form. This form is for informational purposes only. You just have to keep it in your own records. It documents that your employer has offered you health insurance, as required by the Affordable Care Act. The federal penalty for not having health insurance was eliminated starting in 2019.
Some states (California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, D.C) still require residents to have health insurance or pay a state tax penalty. So if you are in one of those states, you will answer a question asking if you have qualifying health insurance for the entire year.
The only Form 1095 that you have to enter in TurboTax is a Form 1095-A which is for Marketplace health insurance. TurboTax will ask you if you received a Form 1095-A and you will answer No there if you had no Marketplace insurance and you received a Form 1095-C.
To get to those screens in TurboTax to check your answers, you can:
Click on Search at the top right of your TurboTax screen
Type health insurance in the search box and enter
Click on the link that says Jump to health insurance
Your screen will say Do you need to report any 1095-A's

Many states will not let you file a separate return if your federal return is married filing jointly. You'll need to check your state's personal income tax form filing instructions, and see what the rules are.
From the TurboTax FAQ - How do I prepare a joint federal return and separate state returns?:
Caution: Each state has its own rules regarding this topic. For example, Arizona allows couples to file separately even if they filed a joint federal return, whereas Colorado does not. California doesn't allow it either, with the exception of active-duty military and certain nonresidents. Before proceeding further, make sure this is allowed by your state's tax laws.
[...]
Here's a brief overview of the procedure (see the sections below for detailed steps):
Prepare one Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) return to file with the IRS.
Prepare a mock Married Filing Separately (MFS) return for each taxpayer. This is for your records only and will be used to generate separate state returns for each person. The mock federal returns aren't filed.
Then, for the first taxpayer, label and use the first mock MFS federal return to prepare their state MFS return. Use only their income and their half of the deductions from the MFJ federal return.
This ensures that TurboTax only transfers the first taxpayer's income to their married filing separate state return.
File this MFS state return, not the mock federal return that it pulls the information from.
For the second taxpayer (spouse), label and use the second "mock" MFS federal return to prepare their state MFS return. Again, use only their income and their half of the deductions from the MFJ federal return.
File the second MFS state return, not the second mock federal return that it pulls the information from.
Which states are you filing in? Community users and employee experts can better help you understand what your rules are if you share what states you're working with.
See the above FAQ for the full, detailed instructions for filing separate states and a joint federal return - where allowed.

Are you asking about a 1095A? You do not "upload" 1095A. You key it in by hand.
To enter your 1095A go to Federal>Deductions and Credits> Medical>Affordable Care Act (Form 1095A)

The IRS grants every dependent a limited standard deduction. Even with zero earned income, a minor is entitled to a standard deduction, which is $1,350 for the 2025 tax year, to reduce their total capital gains before the "Kiddie Tax" calculations on Form 8615 begins. The first $1,350 of his gains is tax-free due to this deduction.
Removing the deduction would increase his tax bill by making that initial $1,350 taxable, so the software is ensuring he only pays tax on the portion of his investment income that exceeds the federal threshold.

The 1099-DIV is for a Joint filing, maybe it’s a consolidated version.
