The additional senior deduction enacted due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is not reported as part of the standard deduction on your tax return.  Instead, you will see it included automatically based on your age and filing status on Form 1040 line 13b.     Amounts shown on line 13b can be traced back to Schedule 1-A line 38 where the total Enhanced Deduction for Seniors is calculated.
You can refile electronically immediately upon the return being accepted by the IRS provided you both have an IP PIN issued by IRS.GOV for the current filing year.

So an update to my post here, you can in fact e-file provided you both create an IP PIN on the IRS.gov website. My daughter amended her return, used her IP PIN to file, and the amended return was accepted within 30 minutes. Once accepted, I refiled my previously rejected returns using my IP PIN and adding her IP PIN. My return was accepted within 30 minutes.  So much easier than it used to be. @VolvoGirl

If you've already filed the tax return, and been approved, it can get a little complicated.   If the IRS has completely processed your return and you have your refund, you should file an amended tax return. (see steps below) I suggest your Ex. mails the return with your son included. The IRS will identify the duplicate Social Security Number for your son. The IRS will then send both of you a letter requesting that you clarify the situation. You can explain the situation and state that an amended return has been filed. An amended return can make a change to a tax filing that has already been accepted.  You should follow these guidelines.  You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.  You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.  Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.   The refund calculator will start ‌at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due  Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.  You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment  Select your product below and follow the instructions.  Amend TurboTax Online  Amend TurboTax CD/Download
