Description of error: There is a potential issue with the calculation regarding Form 5695, Energy Efficient Home Improvement section, Enabling Property on the Federal return What needs to be done: This return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on March 6, 2026. On or after this date, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing. Your software allowed me to file the other day but was rejected shown above. Why would your software (Turbotax) allow me to file if the form is not working yet?!

Only after both federal and state returns were rejected, did I have to spend an hour figuring that I had to go to my IRS account to get my Identity PIN for this year, and then figure out where to enter it. Why doesn't the federal review catch this and save a lot of headache?

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-curr...
NOTE -
Not until the IRS updates the Form 1040-X instructions for tax year 2025 can TurboTax provide a 2025 Form 1040-X.
Current IRS Form 1040-X instructions are for tax year 2024 - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040x.pdf

When I first tried to Preview a Print Copy of my return, the software asked me which program I wanted to use for the preview. Acrobat PDF was not offered even though I have the program installed. The default offered was Edge since that was chosen previously as my default browser. I accepted the default and the choice of Always (vs. One Time) in order to see the preview. Edge does not correctly preview the tax return, but I can't see how to change the program choice to preview printing. How do I change the preview print program from Edge to Acrobat?

@fxspain wrote: I also received a depreciation credit of $534 for the one month’s of use in 1998. Combined, that matches the $167,272 which the software shows as ‘prior depreciation’ in Line 10 of the Asset Entry Worksheet. That is a problem, and probably the problem. The first year should have only been a half a month (real estate uses the Mid-Month convention), which is $267. Because TurboTax using the mathematical method of calculating depreciation, that little error in the "prior depreciation" is throwing things off. If you correct the "prior depreciation" to factor in that the first year only should have had $267 of depreciation, does it calculate it correctly?

When we go to Forms mode, it indicates we need to check the box saying we qualify, even though TT instructions also says we do NOT qualify. We have to leave the Form box blank, but TT does not accept that and continues to kick that as an error it will not go past. I think I need to PRINT, write my check, REMOVE that printed form, and mail it in this year.

I had my refund issued via check as their was an issue with my account information for my direct deposit, My state and federal returns were approved a day a part and it has been a week since I got my state refund check and no sign of my federal check. TurboTax support said both checks were mailed the same day (11th) does anyone know why there might be such a delay between the two checks arriving?

I had a couple W2's this year from a regular part time job and a temporary job, the rest of my work came in multiple 1099's as a self employed individual. I used an app to track the milage to and from work for those 1099 jobs. Can I claim those miles as deductible on my taxes?

I believe this is a situation related to the $40k SALT limitation and how it applies to Georgia return. I completed and filed both 2025 Fed and State (Georgia) returns via TT earlier this week. Fed accepted just fine. Georgia was rejected with TT guidance stating that an update was required for electronic filing. I completed the update this afternoon...and my Georgia tax liability INCREASED by nearly $700 with no additional data entered. Best I can tell from comparing my pre-update files to current, the change has to do with a GA 500 line 12, $10k limitation that didn't exist on the form before today. I've read through GA IT-511 instruction booklet on this section; it still references fed deduction being "limited to $10k", and that's triggering a commensurate exclusion in my GA deductions. I don't see how this flows. Why does GA IT-511 refer to a $10k (vs $40k) limit? I realize that's not a TT issue, but it provides context. And, more directly, why is TT forcing a $10k exclusion on my state deductions when there were no reductions on my Federal (Sch A SALT total was $24k)? I can see this on my TT Form 500 view, but don't find anyway to adjust it?? Thanks so much!

Yes, you can check the amounts on the Tax Payments Worksheet to make sure there are no 'Estimated Payments' on Lines 1-5 if you didn't make any. Lines 10-24 show tax withheld on W-2's or 1099's, or prior year tax paid in 2025.
There is a separate Worksheet for Line 5 of Schedule A, the State and Local Tax Deduction Worksheet.
You can right-click on most amount fields and check for 'Data Source' and this should point to any entry errors for you.
