The 2025 Tax Year seems to be importing the 179 deduction from my PTE incorrectly into the Maryland 500DM form this year in column 1.   I tried to call but there was a one hour wait.  Anyone know how to fix this?  I can't select, Only source of adjustments is from k-1, because I have other assets from schedule E.  Either a bug or I missed something this year.
Who did you pay and why?  The Form 1040-V is the payment voucher used when paying federal taxes owed and mailing the payment to the IRS.

To research your experience, it would be helpful to have a copy of your TurboTax ".tax2025" file. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:    Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important.   We will attempt to determine if we can possibly provide you with a resolution.   @Tax-turtle

This is nothing new, I cannot remember we all had the same problem with Fidelity and the 1099 download. (I am trying to remember last year or the previous year) Honestly I cannot find the 12 pages of complaints but I do remember that I had to go to the TT site with my taxes to actually download from there.  I didn't trust adding my taxes to their site but it was the only way, note the fix was offered late in March.  I haven't had a chance to download yet since everything is supposedly available on March 12 due to K1's, and some other issues.

@markmil11 wrote: I think you must be a H&R Block employee, OBVIOUSLY?! Not an H&R Block employee nor an Intuit employee. Sorry.   I was merely trying to point out what is currently supported by H&R Block and not (apparently) supported by TurboTax.   At the moment, TurboTax does not support T. Rowe Price while H&R Block does support that firm. On the other hand, TurboTax supports Merrill while H&R Block does not at the present time.   Not sure what you find objectionable about someone relaying, what is to some, useful information about the products.
The Where Do I report 1099-OID? article has information on where to input this form in TurboTax.
Still does NOT work for Schwab!  24Feb2026 Show successful page but  ZERO dollars in the return. Needs fix now.

If you rolled over your some or all of your balance in a 529 plan, your financial institution should be able to tell you your earnings, which is the only amount that may be taxable.   They should also have records of your contributions made (if you don't), which is your Cost Basis.  Box 2 (earnings) and Box 3 (Cost Basis) should add up to Box 1 (Distribution) amounts.   Here's more detailed info on Form 1099-Q.   @j0mike1993
No, a QBI loss is not deductible against taxable income.   In 2024 you had a QBI loss carryover from 2023 of $77,361, but you had QBI and apparently rental income in 2024 of $7,797, so the carryo... See more...
No, a QBI loss is not deductible against taxable income.   In 2024 you had a QBI loss carryover from 2023 of $77,361, but you had QBI and apparently rental income in 2024 of $7,797, so the carryover QBI loss to 2025 would be the difference. In 2024 you had net rental income of $7,797 that may have been taxable. But you can't use your QBI loss carryover to reduce it.    The QBI loss can come from other sources besides your rental activity. If your only source of QBI is from the rental activity, then the rental loss carryover and QBI loss carryover may be the same, but often they are different. The important thing to keep in mind though is that a QBI loss is only used to determine your QBI income, it is not deducted from your taxable income. The QBI income is tracked since you use it to determine your QBI deduction when it is a positive amount.
Ignore it. It just means that the issuer takes no responsibility for determining the taxability of the distribution.

Since filing my taxes, I have gotten a few messages from my tax expert, at least one responding to a late question I had. I sign in via the email notification link, and when I click the link in the alert banner, it takes me nowhere. I go to where the "chat with expert" link used to be, but it is gone because the UI has changed since filing. I scour the platform for messages, but I cannot find anything. I called the help line, and when the automated walk-through gets to "are you calling about the status of your refund or something else?" it doesn't respond to me when I say "something else" 5 times, and no buttons work to get out of the loop. It'd be great if I could get get my messages. or if the help line robot had a way to defer to a human or other options.

Can I uninstall and reinstall desktop Premiere 2025 without a license issue? I'm concerned it will say license already used. I cannot file State tax because it gives me an Opps error when it goes to launch the TT site. It never launces the site. The recent updates have not fixed the issue.
I SAVED the file, and then RIGHT-CLICKED the file and chose OPEN WITH FIREFOX. It worked!

I agree that you should not complete a form 3115 manually in TT. Form 8453 allows you to send in the form separately from a return that has been efiled.  Make sure you check the appropriate box. I'm sure this happens frequently, however, in this day and age of the IRS lack of employees (25% reduction in workforce), who knows how this works anymore. If you do send it in separate, with form 8453, send it certified mail so you have proof of mailing. Otherwise, send everything together (paper file) as noted by @M-MTax  Also make sure your paper copy of the filed return is sent certified as well.
