Yes, it's poorly worded.  They are working on that section of the program. It's not clear if that particular question will be fixed.   "Is the recipient of the distribution the designated beneficiary?" Appears to be the category. and "Recipient is not designated beneficiary" is the actual question. In your case, answer yes.

Hi,   Any update on when a fix may be available?  In searching the support community, I've seen Feb 13th, and now some people are saying they've been told Feb. 20th.   Still encountering the error today - Feb 16th - not accepting the Weil McLain QMID code of 46H2 on form 5695.   I'm running Desktop Premier on a Mac.   Thanks!
Yes.  I was linked to a program called "Deductible" but it doesn't upload to Turbo Tax, so it seems I have to manually enter everything anyway.  It's really annoying.   Not a happy Intuit customer.

Code J in box 7 of Form 1099-R indicates Early distribution from a Roth IRA, no known exception.  To indicate that the Roth IRA was rolled over and is not a taxable transaction, you have to go through the questions after entering your Form 1099-R.   One of those asks  "What Did You Do With The Money From [Retirement Plan]"? Be sure you indicate that you "rolled over all of this money to another Roth IRA or other retirement account (or returned it to the same account)."

Choose "No, I did not"   Note: Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are mandatory withdrawals from retirement accounts starting at the age of 73.   If you are now at the age, but did not take the distribution, here are a few things to know:   You must immediately take the distribution to minimize penalties, which are 25% of the shortfall, or 10% if corrected within two years The first RMD must be taken by April 1 of the year following the year you reach age 73 Subsequent RMDs are required by Dec 31 annually

My husband does not have a HDHP but his employer puts $1000 in an HSA every year which he uses for medical bills. He doesn't contribute to the HSA at all. The 8889-S form is forcing me to say that he had a HDHP when he didn't and asking questions like what months he had this coverage when he didn't have it at all.  Not sure how to handle this but the headache is not worth $1000.
