I am not able to replicate the same issue of overtime not being deductible when the qualifications are met and checked in TurboTax.    Therefore, I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:   TurboTax Online:   Sign into your online account. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.” This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.   TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:   Open your return. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” * This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us. Please provide the Token Number  (including the dash) that was generated in the response.   *(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
I also have this 8995-A, but nothing in box 5 of my 1099-Div.  I cannot delete the form.  What else could be causing this to generate?
Thank you for this.  I have tried this prior to asking the question.  I never filled out the 8962 form, nor did I enter yes when asked if I received a 1095-A.

TurboTax Desktop: Search for 1099-SA. Follow the onscreen instructions. What is a health savings account (HSA)? What's Form 8889? If TurboTax is not letting you continue, you can try the following: Go out of your program and go back in. Clear your cache and cookies. Try a different Web Browser. If you are using TurboTax Desktop make sure all updates have been run on your program. You can do this by clicking on "Online" in the black bar across the top of your TurboTax screen. And then select "Check for Updates". If you have any additional questions or information regarding this please return to TurboTax Community and we would be glad to help.   @travisttax

The entry is required to be corrected.   In TurboTax, in the Michigan state income tax return, at the screen Contribution to MESP, MI 529 Advisor Plan and/or Michigan ABLE Account, I am able to enter $11,000 as a contribution for a married filing joint income tax return.   When I select Let's check it over, I receive the screen Check This Entry.    The screen states:  Schedule 1:  Line 17 - Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) and MI529 Advisor Plan should be less than or equal to $10,000.   I must change the payment to $10,000.   Michigan Schedule 1 line 17 reports $10,000.

It is true that if you use the Standard Deduction on your Federal Return and then get a state tax refund for that tax year, the refund is not taxable.  The reason is this, if you took the Standard Deduction on your 2024 tax year Federal Return, you did not deduct state tax, therefore any state tax refund attributed to tax year 2024  (which is received in 2025) is not applicable. The refund is not reported, it is not taxable income.    Even when a state refund IS taxable, that taxable refund has nothing to do with Schedule A. The taxable amount of the state refund would be reported on Schedule 1 and flow to your 1040 line 8.   Now getting back to your original question concerning Schedule A.  Schedule A will pick up the amounts of Estimated Tax Payments you list as made for 2025 AND paid in 2025. The payment for 2025 Quarter 4 will not be included since that was made in 2026.  If you had a 4th quarter 2024 payment made in 2025, you need to enter that on different screen from the payments for 2025.    Deductions & Credits Estimates and Other Taxes Paid  Estimates     START or UPDATE   State estimated taxes for 2025     START or UPDATE Enter the payments made Only Quarters 1 through 3 will count for your 2025 Schedule A   Return to Estimated Tax Payments 2024 state estimated taxes paid in 2025     START or UPDATE Choose the state and enter the amount     This total should show on your Schedule A line 5a since you did not pay a state tax liability with your 2024 state return filed in 2025.    If the amount does not match, is the box checked on Schedule A line 5a indicating State Sales Tax rather than State Income Tax?

This article will help you download any data you had in ItsDeductible (if used previously or during the year before it was shut down in October).   There will be a new tool that will help calculate the Fair Market Value (FMV) of the donated items. However, no information on when it is going to be available yet.
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
