Not sure where you saw that you are "supposed" to get your refund on 2-12----but only the IRS is in control.   You should only pay attention to the date and information shown on the IRS refund site.  TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   @mariasmurf
The work on this section of TurboTax is continuing and expected to be completed with an update coming after Thursday night (2/19).  The best time to check for a change will be Friday (2/20).

Somehow my reply did not show up above.  If you are a non-married couple who live together with your child, then only one of you can claim the child(ren) and the one not claiming the child does not enter anything at all on their tax return about the child.   The “sharing” of child-related credits you may have heard about is only possible between divorced or never married parents who live apart and share custody and who have a written agreement to share the credits.    The child’s SSN can only be entered on one tax return.   Any other return with the child’s SSN on it will be rejected.   If you are a family, then work out how to share the refund between yourselves.   @Ednels1

@ newusernameagain wrote: Why was the OP instructed to enter 2016 income on a 2019 return? Shouldn't they have been advised to amend the 2016 return? Obviously the post is ancient and a moot point but this seems like an inaccurate response. Are you going by the alleged date at the bottom of each comment? 6/01/2019 is the date TurboTax Community switched to this new forum.    All posts older than 6/01/2019 were given the date 6/01/2019.    I know it's odd.    But that's how they moved those thousands of threads to their new forum system.   So you can't go by a lot of threads that say June 2019.    It most likely was a post from 2017 about a 2016 return, but all those old threads got a 2019 date in the transition.   It used to be called "AnswerXchange."

Yes.  Your early withdraw in PA is taxable.  It is asking for your basis (the amount you personally contributed) because that amount will not be taxed.  PA does not give you a deduction when you contribute to the IRA, so your contributions were already taxed by the state.  By entering your contributions you are getting a deduction of the basis so you are not double taxed on the part of the withdrawal. You will be taxed on the earnings by the state.

Yes, you will be able to redo your taxes depending on your situation. It depends  on whether the IRS has already "accepted" your return or if you submitted it and it has been rejected.   If you just hit "Submit" and it hasn't been accepted by the IRS yet, you have to wait.   If you get rejected: You can fix the errors in your TurboTax file and submit it again like it was the first time. If Pending:  You have to wait for the IRS to officially Accept or Reject it before you can take the next step. If the IRS has already accepted your return, you have to file an Amended Return (Form 1040-X).  To amend,  wait until you receive your original refund (if you were owed one). If you amend while the first return is still being processed, it can cause problems and delay in processing your refund, if you are owed one.   To amend you return and if you use TurboTax online   Sign in and scroll down to Your tax returns & documents. Select 2025 and then select Amend (change) return. Select Amend using TurboTax Online. Follow the instructions given. If using desktop:   Go to the Federal Taxes tab (or "Personal" depending on your version). Look for Other Tax Situations. Scroll down to Other Tax Forms and select Amend a Return. TurboTax will ask, "Did you already file your return?" Select Yes. Follow the instructions given The amending process is not available until after 2-25 but it is critical not to begin until:   Yuor return has been accepted by the IRS You receive your original refund (if you are owed one)

It looks like the IRS caught the missing W-2 on their own and automatically adjusted your return to match the records in their database. Instead of the $2,346 refund you expected, they calculated your actual tax liability as $888 and subtracted your total withholdings of $1,027, which leaves you with a final refund of exactly $139. The Code 846 on your transcript shows they have already authorized that $139 payment for March 2nd, so that is the amount you’ll actually receive. Since the IRS already fixed the mistake and "resolved" the issue with Code 571, you probably won't even need to file an amendment unless you find another error.

This experience has been reported but we have no estimated date for an update. We recommend that you either: 1) enter a negative one (1) in the Regular Tax column on that line OR 2) delete the carryover amount in the QBI column.   It was determined last year that the amount that appears in the QBI column was either utilized in a prior year or disallowed and should not have been carried over.

Did you have an HVAC system installed including an air handler as well as the AC? If the units were installed as one item, (and you only have one total cost) but only the Air Conditioner counts towards the credit, you may be allowed to use the highest cost of that model air conditioner towards the credit.    You must supply the QMID code which is X7Z8.
