Can someone please reference IRS rule/regulation that states it "HAS TO BE ON A 1099 form.  I am not able to location this information.  I do taxes for a Salon/Hairdresser.
I spent an extra hour and a half putting things into H&R Block and have filed with them without issue. Would recommend everybody do the same

Yes, you can claim the credit for installing an Alternat Fuel Vehicle Refueling Station at your main home in the United States.   According to the IRS: "The credit has no annual or lifetime dollar limit except for credit limits for fuel cell property. You can claim the annual credit every year that you install eligible property until the credit begins to phase out in 2033."   "For property you buy and place in service at your main home from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2033, the credit equals 30% of the cost of the property up to a maximum credit of $1,000 per item (each charging port, fuel dispenser, or storage property)."   For more information: IRS Individuals, Electric Vehicle Chargers, and the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit   For more information: IRS Residential Clean Energy Credit   You may claim up to 30% of your project cost (up to $1,000 maximum amount credited).   For more information: IRS: Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit for Individuals   You can claim his credit on Form 8911 Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit   Enter your info on Form 8911: Open or continue your return. Click on "Deductions and Credits" under your Federal tab (Personal).  (or enter "Form 8911" in the Search box, then "jump to...." link). I am using TT Home and Business for Mac.  I checked for updates earlier this morning (02/13/26) and none were available.  After seeing the posting by RogerD1 (Employee Tax Expert) I just closed the program, reopened it, checked for updates (none were available), went to the appropriate section for entering the sale of a rental property and received the same message ("Depreciate and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner") that I have been getting since the last time I posted two weeks ago.   As I mentioned then, the lack of accurate and reliable information being communicated by Intuit on this concern is simply hard to understand, impossible to effectively plan around, and represents poor customer service and relations.   The availability date has been a moving target and the only accurate posting by a TurboTax Employee Expert thus far appears to be the one stating the functionality would be available after February 13th.

Opus 17 Level 15      If you would take the time to read what I wrote it might make more sense to you.  An Uber driver gets tips, just like a cab driver.  Unlike the cab driver, the Uber doesn't get a W-2.  They might get a 1099-NEC if they received incentives and they would get a 1099-K if their regular pay and tips exceed $20K.  In the absence of a 1099, they still report their income, including tips.  They just report it as cash income.   Tips are normal in the driver for hire industry, said industry is included in the IRS list of covered industries, tips are received and reported as income.  The problem is that since they're not specifically included on a 1099, the Uber driver pays taxes on their reported tips while the cabbie. doesn't.   Next time you do a return for an Uber driver take a look at their annual statement and you'll see what I mean.

My schwab online 1099 is available today. I tried multiple times to download into the Turbotax desktop. TT says it imported succesfully but no data is imported. I tried the online edition and import worked but I want to use the desktop version. I tried turning off my antivirus program and firewall (Norton) and still have the problem.  Will turbotax fix the bug?
Canadian Registered Pension does not appear on the forms list, but it appears on the list of retirement income items and cannot be deleted. This is obviously a bug - PLEASE FIX THIS.

Thank-you for this response.....very helpful.  TT did flag the excess and prompted me to return the excess contribution before filing date, which I have requested via Fidelity.   When creating the 1099-R (for year 2026) to correct for the excess contribution, there is a box (under less common situations) which asks for 'payment date'......do I enter the date in which my brokerage house made the distribution to me of the contribution + earnings, or do I just leave this blank?   Thank-you.

I have the same issue and have tried several times to delete the form - it cannot be deleted.

After completing my tax return, I was not allowed to efile.  My tax returns include a Schedule C.  Message said it was  because my total income was more than -$25,000 after an allowed carry over loss amount was entered. How do I bypass this issue?

The IRS may have reduced the amount because you owe back taxes or there is a garnishment issue for child support or something similar. If so, you will get a notice in the mail within a week or two from the IRS explaining the difference.
Any update; I was really hoping this update would be released so I can file today.
Yes, you can prepare an unlimited number of returns with TurboTax Business Desktop.  You can only electronically file 5 returns, though.
