First, check to see if you signed up for the TurboTax Refund Advance. You can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.    Check Your TurboTax Order Details On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents." Select View Order Details. Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods. If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.   Look for Confirmation Emails If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners. From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection." From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account. From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.   Check Your Credit Karma Money Account Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed. Log in to your Credit Karma account. Navigate to the Money tab. If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.   Review Your Tax Return Summary You can also find clues on your actual tax forms: Open your 2025 return in TurboTax Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left Select Print Center View your Federal Information Worksheet Look at the "Direct Deposit" section If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.

I am experiencing the same issue. Thanks for the answers BillM223. Your answers are what I thought as well, but I wanted to make sure I was on the right page.   In regards to answer (1), I will have to ask her the timing of her distirbutions for 2025, most of them were before she turned 65 in Nov, but there may have been some in Nov & Dec.  However, all of her distributions were 100% for qualified medical expenses. So, I am assuming that if she had any of these ditributions in Nov/Dec then we would check "yes" that she was 65,  But if all of them were before she turned 65 we would answer "No".   Questions (2) & (3), I had alreaady entered as you stated, so we are good there.   Question (4), I will go in and finish inputting all her HSA info, and then go to Forms at the end and correct the Jan 2024 box to "self".  I am using the Desktop poduct.  I will then save as a PDF all forms and check to see that her 8889-S Form shows it correctly before I send it in electronically. She has been on a HDHP Self Plan since I went onto SS/Medicare 7 years ago.   Thanks for you help Steve

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

I suggest you print out the form 1040 prepared by ChatGPT and compare it to the same form prepared by TurboTax. You need to then compare the entries line by line to see where the discrepancies are. Then, investigate to determine which return is correct and go from there. Until you identity the problem with more specificity, it won't be possible to arrive at a solution.   To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:   Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

When a like kind Section 1031 occurs and the replacement property has a lesser value than the traded property then capital gain can occur.  The property traded does continue to depreciated as though it is the new property. A suggestion is to rename the property so it's easier to track without altering your current depreciation.   You can add an asset to your books for the amount of recognized capital gain (or cash/non-like-kind property received) in a 1031 exchange, as this increases the basis of the new property. While the core, deferred gain is carried over, the "boot" (cash received) increases your basis by the amount of gain recognized.
Did you have to deactivate Windows defender as well?
Thank you for your response, it saved me tremendous aggravation.  I was trying to put in the percentage changes on the forms, which  won't allow changes.

Last year 2024 TurboTax made me to overpay federal taxes. IRS returned me as a result of the program mistake $5,258.00. This year it looks like the taxes it calculates is too high. I entered the same data in ChatGPT, and it gives me the number of ~$3000 less. I'm vey upset and do not know what to do.  I bought the TurboTax Home & Business at Costco. What should I do? Who should I call?

Currently, TurboTax supports the manual entry of IRS Form 1099-DA. We are in the process of enhancing our CSV import and upload features to make this process more seamless. Timeline: We expect the new CSV import functionality to be available soon. Please note that this is an estimated target as we finalize the experience. Supported Documents: Once live, the import/upload feature will support both 1099-DA and DigitalAssetGainLoss files. If you are ready to file now, you can still enter your information manually. Otherwise, thank you for your patience while we get these automated tools ready for you!

I know about the QMID code. Seems like most manufacturers of electrical panels do not have one yet. While many tax documents arrive by January 31, some brokerages delay consolidated 1099 statements (like 1099-B) until mid-February due to account complexity. If your data isn't ready to import yet, check back in a week or two.   If you are using TurboTax Online, try importing using a different browser. Make sure any VPN or Anvi-Virus is turned off.   See the following TurboTax Help articles for potential fixes: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue?
