The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 02/25/2026   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. Like most of you, I was also getting a successful transfer from the website, but no documents appeared in TurboTax.  I am using Chrome.  Unfortunately, I resolved the issue by doing something you shouldn't and that was changing multiple things at one time.  The very first time I tried to get my data, the browser asked if I wanted to allow the site to access devices on my network to which I replied No because I'm paranoid - hahaha.  When I returned to TurboTax, no files/data had been pulled.  After going through this a few times and reading through the Community notes about changing default browsers and trying FireFox, I noticed that there was an update available for Chrome.  This is where I changed multiple things.  I did the update to Chrome.  Closed all open browser windows to force TurboTax to open it cleanly (previously, I had an open Chrome window with existing tabs and TurboTax was just opening a tab inside the same session) and against my better nature, I replied YES when the browser asked if I wanted to let the site access systems on my network.  This fixed it for me!  I didn't use FireFox or change the default browser.  I hope this helps someone out there!

So...  I was able to work around this problem, thanks to Chatgpt (not anyone from Turbotax, unfortunately).  The secret is this...  start a new tax return.  You can tell TurboTax to populate it with your prior year's information, but otherwise, don't work on it at all.  Find the "Import" section and import your brokerage information (as the first thing you do).  Then, once you have verified that it's there, you can begin working on the rest of the return.  I bow to our A.I. masters...

Hi Mike: I was getting too frustrated when I asked my question last night and didn't explain it correctly. Anyway, TT had already filled in Box 20 with Code L  and it said " See attached Section 179 Disposition Report".  I had assumed that meant it was only dealing with the 179 deduction taken and not the sale. I looked up those reports this morning and that's the information I need for each partner.  So I guess now I can input the amounts from the K1 dispo reports into our form 1040s. I appreciate the time you took to respond to me. Thank you.

I am no tax expert but I have done my family's taxes for many, many years....mostly using TurboTax.  From what I can tell, the TurboTax for SC program is incorrectly addressing the Additions to Federal Taxable Income.  I use the Standard Deduction on my Federal taxes.  TurboTax is automatically adding $1500 in the Other Additions to Income section.  That is not correct.  The instructions for SC taxes don't say anything about adding this $1500 for this line.  I had to figure out how to delete it from the TurboTax program,  It appears that TurboTax has totally botched this and a lot of people may not even notice it and pay more SC taxes than they are supposed to {nut maybe SC will use the extra $$ to fix traffic??].  Just as a warning, I am also running into an issue with how TurboTax is calculating taxes on our SC withdrawal...but maybe that is an error on my part?  Good Luck!
