I did a test case in TurboTax for someone with a birthdate of January 1, 1962 and confirmed what you saw, which is that the software applied $31,000 as the upper limit for the 401(k) contribution.
I tried another test case in TurboTax for someone with a birthdate of January 2, 1962 and it correctly applied the $34,750 limit for the enhanced catch-up contribution.
IRS regulations will commonly consider January 1 to be the end of the prior year - one such provision is someone turning 65 on January 1, 2026 may file a 1040-SR return for 2025 and also be eligible for the additional standard deduction at that age. Because of that, it's entirely possible that someone born on January 1, 1962 may be considered to be 64 years old in the eyes of the IRS. If this is true, then the limit stated in the TurboTax software for contributions would be correct.

Neither. The Residential Clean Energy Credit is for property, including solar electric panels, placed in service by December 31, 2025.
This credit ended as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, so it is not available for solar panels placed in service in 2026.
See this IRS article for details: Residential Clean Energy Credit

@wrgialluca17 You have to access and download your own tax return.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
Go to this IRS website for free transcripts of a federal tax return - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $30 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

Enter the year that you anticipate the birth year to be. In this case 2026. If that changes on next year's tax return then you can change it then.

We had family HSA coverage until his death in April. The HSA then was inherited by me moving me to single HSA coverage. I did not have any other HSA prior to my inheriting my husband's. He contributed $3960 through April. I contributed $2500 after his death. Turbotax says there is a $777 excess for my husband's contributions. We are both over 55. I found one bit of guidance online that says we each would have our own limits, which would make the excess correct, but I couldn't find anything stating that through the IRS information. I'm going to bring this to my tax accountant, but was hoping someone here might have info as well.

Missing the point here entirely. See all the different threads on this topic, with the employee "experts" all missing the point people are making.

Hi, Anyone else having the same issue where you try to purchase state partnership downloads for 2025 and you get "Hmm... it looks like we’ve hit a slight snag". This is the 3rd year in a row where this issue is happening. I've already checked the TT website and the partnerships are ready / available for KY and PA. NOTE: I've called into support twice and each time they hung up on me. The 2nd call I was 45min into it. Frustrating! Last year I was able to purchase via the following steps, but TT took that option away. I don't understand why TT can fix this OR give us a user friendly message. NOTE these steps were for 2024 and are not an option for 2025 On the top ribbon there is "Help". Then under that there is a selection for "Pay by Phone" and then a further selection of "Sate eFile" Select this. This will pop up a screen regarding "Purchase by Phone" with instructions. 1) This will direct you to "Call Intuit Sales and Services" at ..... 2) Follow the steps. 3) Make sure you get a confirmation number and can "unlock" while you are on the phone. cc: @CatinaT1

Your Mother -In-Law will file Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) with her deceased spouse and she will be able to sign the return. When you go through the Personal Info Section, you can indicate the date of death for your Father-In-Law and TurboTax will take care of the rest. Refer to the TurboTax articles How should I file my return if my spouse recently died?, Can I e-file a tax return for someone who is deceased? ,and Death in the Family. Refer to the IRS FAQ Signing the return for a deceased spouse. My condolences for the loss of your loved one.

If you didn't receive the Minnesota Tax Rebate in 2025, skip the question and don't enter any amount (leave it blank), since you already reported it in 2023.

I'm using the online product for this year's taxes and need to do this for my "Oregon" income. My employer allocated all my income as Oregon income, but I live in Washington (no state income tax) and only actually worked in Oregon 2 days a week. I can't find the feature to make these changes.

Please let us know if you are still having the experience you described when entered your gambling losses.
If it has not been resolved, consider sharing a diagnostic copy of your tax return so someone can take a closer look and submit this experience for further review if necessary. Having a diagnostic tax file is the first step to get it resolved.
The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.
If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread.
Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:
Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return.
Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
Select Tools.
Select Share my file with agent.
A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
Post the token number here.
If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:
Select Online at the top of the screen.
Select Send Tax File to Agent.
Click OK.
Post the token number here.

Your payroll deductions for Oregon Paid Family Leave reported on Form W-2 in Box 14 don't affect your tax return. Box 14 is informational, so you can choose the category "OR PFML' or similar. Oregon State Tax withheld from your wages should be in Box 17, with taxable state wages in Box 16. If you're seeing another notation in Box 14, choose the best category from the list, as this is again just informational. Here's more info on Box 14. @user17702613684

I confirm that I am having the same issue as everyone else, there is no "Step 6," that screen never appears. I have been rejected twice now. Catina, can you please talk to your tech department and find out why the customer support front line folks like yourself do not know that TurboTax has a bug preventing NY State returns from being processed? Thank you for trying, please confirm the date we should expect the fix to be released, and when we can attempt to refile.

Can you clarify what you mean by "rounding?" All cents entered on federal income tax return are rounded up to the next dollar.
