If TurboTax is not letting you continue, you can try the following: Go out of your program and go back in. Clear your cache and cookies. Try a different Web Browser. If you are using TurboTax Desktop make sure all updates have been run on your program. You can do this by clicking on "Online" in the black bar across the top of your TurboTax screen. And then select "Check for Updates".
Try going back to enter your Driver's License. Navigate to the "File" tab on the left menu, and follow the steps before submitting your return.
If you have any additional questions or information regarding this please return to TurboTax Community and we would be glad to help.

Go back through the FILE steps to change your options - you can remove it as long as you have not submitted the return or if it is in a rejected status. If you already submitted it, you can remove it only if the return gets rejected. When you go back through the steps, do not choose the 5DE option.

Sorry--no. It is too late to seek the loan after you file.

There are several sections for Form 1099-R, depending on which kind of retirement income you are reporting.
Distributions from an IRA, or payments received from a pension have Box 7 to list a distribution code.
Social Security statements do not have a box for a distribution code.
Please check and verify that you selected the correct section for the kind of 1099-R you have.
Sounds like you want
"IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)"
NOT SOCIAL SECURITY (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)

When it rejects you should get an email with the reject code or message. A common reason is for the wrong AGI. Try entering 0 for the AGI. The IRS might have processed your return later so the AGI didn't get entered in time. Especially if you mailed it. That works for most people. See, https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/rejections/help/what-if-i-entered-the-correct-agi-and-i-m-still-getting-an-e-file-reject/00/27031 How to correct the AGI in the Online version https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/where-do-i-correct-my-agi-in-turbotax-online/00/26311 If you can’t get it to efile you will have to print and mail it. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online/00/26258 Be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

I'm using the Turbo Tax Deluxe Desktop version, after the screen of my 1099-K summary, the income relates to ‘Personal Items’ I Click Done. After that, I do not see a screen that says "income and expenses," to scroll down to Investments and Savings (1099-B, 1099-K….) I see Wages & Income and Deductions & Credits. In Wages & Income, there is a section that says "Retirement and Investments" but nothing about 1099-K. Can you please advise how to move forward considering my Capital loss for a personal item sale should be $0 capital gain on line 7 of the Federal 1040 tax return? Thank you in advance.

@ davidapy If 0 (zero) does not work for both of your AGI and causes another rejection, there is one other option I'd try before mailing. Since you mentioned "Spouse AGI" which is normally the same on a MFJ return, I would still try with using the total 2024 AGI for you and using 0 for the spouse. Then you would have tried all 3 possibilities. It can't hurt to try, is quick, and is immensely better than mailing. Otherwise, please post the exact rejection error code and message.

Where are you looking at the IRS? When did you file? It may take a couple days to show up on IRS Where’s my refund. Or you may be putting in the wrong info or refund amount.

Answer the informational questions
On the screen Here's the income that Kansas handles differently, scroll to Education and select "Qualified Tuition Program Contributions"
Kansas allows you to deduct up to $6,000 per student in contributions, on the next screen you'll enter the number of students and education savings plan contributions

TurboTax does not get any information from the IRS after you file your tax return, so no one at TT knows about a letter you received from the IRS. Read it very carefully and follow the instructions in the letter so that your return will be processed and you get your refund. Only the IRS is in control.

I just ran the update on my Mac version for 2025, and the 1099R section shows "available soon". So far...the only thing I've been able to enter on TT is the estimated payments made directly to IRS and what I paid for property taxes. We're retired, so everything else is on 1099's. Beyond frustrated right now. I can't even do an Extension because I don't know if I've had enough money withheld to cover my Roth Conversions. Ugh!!! TT is truly having their Tylenol moment right now.
