You can review your 1099-Q information by going to the search (magnifying glass at top right) and typing 1099-Q.
From there, select Jump to and the system will take you back to your 1099-Q.
You can also go to Deductions & Credits and scroll down to Education.
Common reasons why a 1099-Q will increase your taxes are:
Failure to Properly Designate "Rollover" in Software (which does not sound like the case with you)
1099-Q vs. 1098-T Discrepancy - Have you entered your 1098-T information?
Double-Dipping (Tax Credits vs. 529) - You use the same education expenses to claim an education tax credit
Review the following:
Check your tax return entry to ensure the 1099-Q is marked as a rollover/reinvestment
Verify that the 1098-T expenses are accurately reported
Ensure you are not using the same expense for both a tax credit and a 529 tax-free withdrawal

OK so I filed my taxes with turbo tax, applied for refund advance, was approved for $1500, chose that as an option at checkout. Filed 1/26, confirmed it was accepted. It is 1/31 and no refund advance has been posted to my account. I called Turbo Tax Customer Service they said wait, 24hrs, then called again wait 48 hours, then called again and they confirmed I checked out with that option and stated they don't know why it hasn't posted because its showing on their end it had been initiated but was pending and to called Credit Karma. Ok. I called Credit Karma Customer Service and they said they do not know why it hasn't been deposited yet that I needed to contact Turbo Tax because it is on their end. I called Turbo Tax, they said it is not on their end and to call Credit Karma back. I called Credit Karma, asked to speak with a supervisor and her advice was I just needed to wait. I asked wait for what? My return was accepted therefore what am I waiting for it says it will be deposited immediately, but I have already waited 5 days. I am confused. Why are yall even offering this as an option if you are unable to provide the service OR your customer service agents cannot troubleshoot it correctly. I want to know where my advance is. I would not have even filed with Turbo Tax had I known I was not going to get the advance. Now my phone is shut off so I can't even call anyone anymore, my rent is due tomorrow, my insurance lapsed, AND I am a single mother with two small children with barely any groceries. I am a DoorDash Delivery Driver and with my phone turned off I can't even work!! WHERE IS MY REFUND?? I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME!! THIS IS INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

ThomasM125: Thank-you for your response. I was hoping for an answer where our friends at TurboTax provides a interview screen prompting for those values rather than use the generic entry screen. Especially given that TurboTax Business is supposed to handle "estates" and these 1099's are part of an "estate". Thanks again. MTF99

Thank-you ! More detail is TT says 70K of SS with 60K taxable. A 100K roth in 4th quarter with 13K tax paid then. I just do not see where TT is recording that 13K 4th quarter date. I see the amount but how is the IRS being told I paid it then. Maybe I should clear form 2210 and reload the data? I am in no rush and plan to do this every year for some time. This is the first time as I just paid the penalty in the past.

Taxes are delayed rejected . What is the fix, TurboTax? If Form 5695, 'MostExpnsFrncHotWtrBlrCostAmt' in 'FrncHotWtrBlrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' has a non-zero value, then 'MostExpnsFrncHotWtrBlrQMID' in 'FrncHotWtrBlrGrp' from 'EgyEffcntHmImprvCrGrp' must be present unless a binary attachment or [GeneralDependencySmall] with description beginning with "Substantiate QMID" is present in the return. What needs to be done: This return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 13, 2026. On or after this date please log back into the product and get the latest updates (TurboTax Online does this automatically). Then revisit the Federal return, run through review and re-transmit the return. If the reject continues, you may want to file this return via U.S. Mail: print and mail it to the appropriate taxing authority.

Q. Will the VA benefits would preclude us from claiming room and board expenses to avoid the 10% penalty, on the IRA distribution?
A. No, for several reasons. One reason is that the penalty exception still applies even if the expense was covered by other funds or tax benefits. That is, there is no "double dipping" restriction. For example, you could pay tuition with the IRA money and still claim both the American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC) and the 10% penalty exception on the IRA.

If you do not operate a research services business, this income is not classified as self-employment income. The correct place to report it is under Other Income, and the steps for doing so are listed below.
Navigate to Federal Taxes.
Go to Wages & Income.
Select I'll choose what I work on.
Scroll to the bottom and, under the Less Common Income section, select Start or Update for Miscellaneous Income....
Browse the available income categories. If none of them apply, select Other reportable income, where you can input your own descriptions and amounts.
Should you need to report this as self-employment income, an article is provided here to guide you through reporting the related income and expenses.

It is automatic based on your age. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. The new Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b with any other sch 1-A amounts. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. If you are married you have to file a Joint return.
For Online version You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/accessing/help/how-do-i-preview-my-turbotax-online-return-before-filing/00/26160 See the 1040……. ,
