As a follow-up to that response, then why am I not receiving the deduction for tips? I wasn't even asked any questions regarding tips. If I report it now without the OBBBA deduction, will TurboTax make the final correction at the end? Thank you for answering my questions.

No, under the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act’s overtime provision, only the overtime premium required by federal law qualifies for the deduction.
The FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) generally requires overtime only after 40 hours in a workweek. Only the premium portion tied to hours exceeding 40 in a week would be eligible.

Since the taxable amount is less than $0.50, this does not have to be entered on a tax return. Rounding by TurboTax and the IRS will show $0 for the income and $0 for the taxes withheld.

I didn't say "refund" I stated "billing". Also, the link that you sent to me is for help with taxes and says that I must have the upgraded format of the program in order to talk with a live person. Is this for real?! Who is it that I can actually SPEAK to about the fees that I was inaccurately charged?

I have the same problem. I’m on a MAC and I select the correct file but transfer button does nothing. I found a workaround! Outside of turbo tax right click the file. Choose open with and choose TurboxTax 2025. Voila! It loads fine. Just stupid software. BTW, I tried thier “help” line. The robot did everything it could to keep me from a human. Finally I prevailed only to be told it will be 45 minute wiat. Really angry with Intuit.

New York State (NYS) tax law includes a specific requirement for mutual funds regarding the subtraction of interest income from U. S. government bonds: The 50% Rule: For you to subtract the portion of dividends derived from U.S. government obligations the mutual fund assets must be invested in at least 50% qualified federal obligations at the end of each quarter. Since you indicated the fund holds 45% in U.S. bonds, it falls below this mandatory threshold. Therefore you cannot subtract any of the income generated by that fund from your NYS taxable income. @vl36 [Edited: 02/08/2026 | 4:45 PM PST]

My daughter attended Esthetician school in 2025 and the school does not provide 1098-T forms. They tell me other students have successfully filed their taxes with alternate documentation / statements showing tuition paid. I have asked for a Federal ID number and they did not provide that information. So my question is, should I still be able to claim the Lifetime Learning Credit by answering "No" to the question about receiving a 1098-T form? When I do that, TurboTax still forces me to enter a Federal ID and won't let me continue beyond that point. According to this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/education-credits-aotc-and-llc "The educational institution’s employer identification number (EIN) is not required on your Form 8863." What am I missing?

Neither of those is an option.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

I am trying to enter a 1099 manually - there is no import available. This is an odd situation - I have a 1099 with a gross distribution of 33 cents, with 7 cents withheld for federal tax. I can enter data in all of the 1099 fields OK - except for the first field - Gross Distribution. The value should be 33 cents. If I enter $0.33, Turbotax shows a red triangle with a white exclamation mark and says "Enter gross distribution in Box 1." Turbotax does this for any amount up to and including 99 cents. Turbotax will allow a value of one dollar or any value above a dollar. I called Turbotax help and their answer was to send me an IRS link saying that a 1099 isn't required for amounts less than $10. (So, don't include the 1099 in your taxes.) The link is for payers and says they are not required to generate a 1099 for less than $10. I have no choice about this - the payer generated a 1099 for 33 cents and sent that to the govt. I can't finish my taxes correctly using Turbotax unless this is fixed. I can leave out the 1099 or I can enter a wrong amount - or I can switch to some other tax product .... Is there a way to actually report a software bug to Intuit - other than calling the call center?

You must be accessing the TurboTax 2025 online tax return and be in one of the section of the return for the links to be visible on the left side of the screen.

So thousands of TurboTax users all across the country all need to clear their cache after experiencing the EXACT SAME software issues? NO. NO. NO. TurboTax needs to own up to their software glitch and stop blaming the users. And if you're a rep not familiar with this issue being reported all across the internet, then educate yourself on the issue instead of giving false information. Sincerely, a pissed off TT customer.

Here are some suggestions to consider with the entry of the 1099 R.
You want Box 6 on the generated form to be unchecked (assuming the recipient is the beneficiary).
Even though the first question asks if the recipient is the beneficiary, the software is actually looking for the trigger for the Form 1099-Q instruction for Box 6, which says: "Check if the recipient is NOT the designated beneficiary." * Action: Answer "No" to the prompt. This signals the software not to check the "Not the beneficiary" box.
If the 1099-Q was issued in your child's name (the student) and they used it for qualified expenses, don't enter the 1099-Q at all. IRS Publication 970 explicitly states that if the distribution is non-taxable (used for qualified expenses), it does not need to be reported on the return. This avoids the software confusion entirely.
The 529-to-Roth rollover is a relatively new provision and here some recommended steps for that.
The IRS Stance: According to IRS Publication 970, qualified rollovers are not reported on your tax return. They are non-taxable events.
The Problem: If you enter the 1099-Q for the rollover, TurboTax currently tries to tax it because it doesn't have a "This was a Roth rollover" checkbox yet.
The Current Workaround: 1. Do not enter the 1099-Q for the rollover portion into TurboTax. 2. Keep the 1099-Q and your proof of the "trustee-to-trustee" transfer in your records. 3. If the beneficiary makes money and you want to track it, you can add it to the Roth contribution in the Deductions & Credits section. Make sure the total (rollover + any other contributions) is not more than the annual limit ($7,000 for 2025).
