Is it possible to add it to the 2025 tax return? or would I have to amend my 2024 taxes?

@JohnQT wrote: I don't understand how all the effort that M$ put into their Windows 11 "upgrade" has actually saved them any expenses.........I definitely won't be holding INTU..... The main source of revenue and growth for MSFT is from Azure and cloud and enterpriser services, not Windows (although licensing brings in a substantial amount).   Likewise, the main source of revenue and growth for INTU is NOT from TurboTax or any pro tax prep software.
My son is being claimed by me because he was a full time student. However, he has his own marketplace plan in his own name. I do not have marketplace insurance. Who does the 1095-A get filed under
Or if you have tax withholding taken out of SS.  Then you should file to get the withholding back and you should change your withholding to zero.

Go back to My Info on the left side of the online program screen.  Edit the dependent and carefully check your answers to the questions. Make sure you select them as your Child, that you selected that they lived in your home for the Whole Year, that they did NOT provided over one-half of their own support (You Did), that you indicated there was no one else in the household providing support to them, and that you did NOT check the box labeled Not valid for employment in the Social Security number section.   If all your answers are correct then delete them as a dependent and re-enter.

And there is one that can be confusing….Was at least half of child's expenses paid by CHILD? Usually is NO, Child didn't pay for more than half of their living expenses. It's not asking if you paid more. If you still can't get it, I would delete the child under My Info and enter them again. Did they turn 17? Has to be under 17 on Dec 31 to get the Child Tax Credit.

No. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are two different types of accounts that allow one to pay qualifying health care costs with pre-tax dollars. The money for each type of account must be kept separate.   Here is a TurboTax article that discusses the differences between HSAs and FSAs: HSA vs. FSA: What Are the Differences?

@JohnQT wrote: I don't understand how all the effort that M$ put into their Windows 11 "upgrade" has actually saved them any expenses.  As I said previously, there are other ways to reduce technical debt that don't involve willy-nilly removing features and incorporating adware and pissing off their customers.  But I guess that's just me (and the OP of this thread, and everyone else I know that is being forced to move from Windows 10 to 11...) Please forgive me for being so dense...  It should be obvious (to anyone who clicks the Start menu button or Search icon on the taskbar in Windows 11 Home edition) exactly how Microsoft intends to build up their balance sheet with this version of Windows: "ad impressions".  There's nothing but Bing and MSN for as far as the eye can see.   Windows 11 Home edition is nothing but an adware platform for M$ to shamelessly  grab views and clicks (and that may be the least problematic feature of the OS).  NO THANK YOU.
The Business edition supports Windows 10 (but not Home & Business or other personal versions).

Maybe you are waiting for some forms.  Click Review to see if you are missing some forms needed in order to e-file.   Many federal and state forms are not yet available.  Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.   Tax form availability tool     Be patient.    IF you e-file now, your return will go into “pending” until the IRS starts to accept/reject returns in late January. You cannot make any changes while the return is on the server. The IRS will start to accept/reject 2025 e-files on January 26.   And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.         https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-announces-first-day-of-2026-filing-season-online-tools-and

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
