I was trying to finalize our return this morning and your accept and no thanks buttons are not working nor can you use the contact us button and the feedback button will not submit either. I was forced to use an alternate software last year and if I have to do that again - I will just not be back to this software EVER!

I think I was able to answer my own question. Apparently I'm just supposed to pay the $800 and they'll bill me for the penalties and interest.

Not sure what approval of refund processing you are referring to. Did you choose to pay your fees from your federal refund and is your refund now taking an unusually long time to be issued by the IRS?
Is it this?
TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT
Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund? Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive? Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account. TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

TURBOTAX SAYS:
How do you justify debiting my account?
The provision is spelled out in the Pay With My Refund Agreement, which you agreed to when you opted to pay with your refund.
In addition, by clicking the "I Agree" button below, you electronically sign and authorize Intuit (through its third party processor) to debit the TurboTax Fees, Additional Products and Services Purchased and any applicable sales tax from your bank account number identified in the Agreement below, in the event that you do not receive a tax refund that is sufficient to pay for them.

I am Fiduciary. CA 541 Total Income is $2,000. Income distributed is $2,000. Taxable Income is $0. 1041 Total Income is > $10,000. Form 541 instructions state the following: Trust. The fiduciary (or one of the fiduciaries) must file Form 541 for a trust if any of the following apply: Gross income for the taxable year of more than $10,000 (regardless of the amount of net income) Net income for the taxable year of more than $100 An alternative minimum tax liability My questions follow: 1. Is filing 541 required? 2. What is the definition of gross income for Form 541? Is it the same as Total Income (line 9). 3. What is the definition of net income for Form 541? Is it Adjusted total income (line 17) or Taxable income (line 20 a) or something else? Thank you for any replies.

Thanks all; I didn't know about form 5498, which makes sense. And I appreciate your answers. But if I'm short on my total RMD for the year**, TTax doesn't know that, and the only way I'll know my penalty, or have a chance to explain why I missed it, is after I submit my return and get a "you owe us" penalty message from the IRS... Anyway, maybe next year the process will be clearer. But for sure I'll be a lot more active in monitoring my RMD withdrawals to ensure this doesn't happen to me again!!! **my investment advisor staff screwed up, and i didn't know that until it was too late...
