You will only be able to deduct the cost of a computer as it relates to a business you run or qualified educational expenses that you are claiming; otherwise, a personal computer is nondeductible. Can you clarify what type of business you purchased this for?   If this relates to a business you run as a self-employed owner, you can follow these FAQ instructions: Here's how to enter your home office, vehicle mileage, supplies, and other common business expenses in TurboTax:   Navigate to the Schedule C section: TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to the Schedule C screen under Wages & Income. TurboTax Desktop: Go to Federal Taxes. Go to Wages & Income.  Under Wages and Salaries, select Start or Update next to Business Income and Expenses (Sch C).         2. Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses? and answer the questions until you get the Select any expense categories you have screen.         3. Select your expenses, then Continue. If you've already worked in this section, select Edit or Review next to your business.         4. Then select Start or Edit next to an expense type that you had.         5. Enter your expense description and amount, and follow the onscreen instructions.       You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.    Sometimes—not always— the IRS corrects your mistakes, while they are processing your return.    If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed             Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)     See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return -   CURRENT YEAR https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk     Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

Do you have enough tax liability to claim the credit?  The biomass credit is part of the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit. This is a nonrefundable credit that cannot be carried forward.  Which means it is a use it or lose it credit.  So if you do not have a tax liability in the tax year you are filing for on line 16 of your form 1040 for it to offset, or you already have enough other non-refundable credits to offset it, you will not be able to claim this credit.

It depends. If you had a 1099-K last year, it may be the reason. However, you should be able to clear this by using the link below for your TurboTax version. Be sure to delete the form and then close the return an open it back up. If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here. If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here. Next you should use this clearing action to remove debris unseen. Try clearing the cookies and cache.   It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis with online activity. Watch to be sure you are selecting 'all time' as example.  Do not use selections like 'last hour' for those browsers that give  you options. How to clear your cache Once this is complete open your return and try again.   @craignvalle  [Edited: 02/28/2026 | 8:39 AM PST]

Thank you for your reply   I deleted the form twice. And I cleared my entire return twice and re-entered my info manually and right after I enter my W-2 income info, Turbo Tax Automatically adds that 1099-G back into the income section.. I click the delete button next to it but it stills transfers over to the State return.
