Someone has stolen my identity/social security number, and I've had 2 appointments with my local IRS office to try to get this ironed out. As a result, I haven't had my 2023 tax return processed yet or my 2024 tax return processed yet. Now I have this W-2C form so I'm trying to submit my amended return. This is such a mess and literally none of it is my fault.
It has just been accepted?   Wait until it has been fully processed to amend.   Some mistakes are caught and corrected by the IRS.  Amending too soon can lead to confusion and delays.

They are becoming low life bait and switch old cars salesman mentality. You start the filing and the only option they offer you is the live $209 option. After all the work is done, they tell you you can opt for cheaper option  if you start all over again.   Let us make sure that we switch to another platform next year.
I do not see the amend option/link

Based on the description for Form 1065 Schedule K-1 Box 11 Code A that you provided, you would choose "Other Portfolio Income (Loss) to be Reported on Schedule E, Page 2."

I got a reply from Employee Tax Expert that the address I put in my message was correct and also matched the address on the form.    The Post Office ( when I track it using the tracking number ) only states that they have the envelope and the associated return receipt and that it is in the US Postal Service network?     I may actually go to the Post office today to inquire.  I also may try to contact other tax preparers, CPAs to see if they know anything.  This is very frustrating and concerning.  Also, if it should be returned to the sender the sender has to sign for it since it was sent return receipt requested.

There is no box to check to say you are retired.   If you are worried about what to enter for "occupation" in MY INFO you can say "Retired" there if you want to.   If you do not have a W-2 from working then you can tell the software you do not have any W-2's.   What income do you have?   Social Security?   Pension?   Distributions from retirement accounts like IRA or 401K?    Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.     To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
For what?   Meals and rent are generally not deductible expenses.
My error.  I had the W2 box checked and wasn't going back far enough to see my mistake.  I unchecked the w2 box and all is well.  Thanks.

If the property was rented the entire year, you can select that the property was always rented at a fair rental price.  You do not need to add the days if you select that it was always rented at a fair rental price.  You only need to enter that if you did not do it for the entire year.  In that case you would not enter 366 because it wasn't for the entire year.
I need to pay my federal taxes, but I want to pay online, instead of by mail… can I do it after I have filed?
