No. It sounds like you fall into a 'Not for Profit' rental situation. See the details below.   Not for Profit Rental: If you do not rent your property to make a profit, you can deduct your rental expenses only up to the amount of your rental income. You cannot deduct a loss or carry forward to the next year any rental expenses that are more than your rental income for the year.   If you never depreciated the property due to the intent of not for profit during any and all rents, then there is nothing to recapture when you sell your home. If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.    You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment Select your product below and follow the instructions.  Amend TurboTax Online  Amend TurboTax CD/Download

Midnight 4-15-2025 = deadline for postmark to get stimulus.   Look at your online account with the IRS to see if they sent you $1400 in 2021. https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account   If you could be claimed as someone else's dependent in 2021, you are not eligible for the payment.   If you were eligible and do not receive a payment soon from the IRS, the other way to get the payment is to amend your 2021 return to use the recovery rebate credit before April 15, 2025.   If you did not file a 2021 return at all, then prepare one and mail it in.   2021   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf     Here is the IRS 2021 Form 1040 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2021.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2021.pdf   And 2021 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2021.pdf 2021 Tax and EIC Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2021.pdf Sch 1 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2021.pdf Sch 2 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2021.pdf Sch 3 : https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2021.pdf

The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud.      You can find your 2023 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by: Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2023 Form 1040 Requesting a transcript of your 2023 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript    Please click on this TurboTax article for more information.    Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number.  If you:  Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.  Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).  Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.  Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2023 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter  0  for one of you).    Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.    This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

I note that Intuit's interface says: "Questions are answered within a few hours on average." That does not seem to be happening.

It appears you're using TurboTax Desktop. Go to Federal Taxes >> Wages & Income >> Rental Properties and Royalties. If you have already entered a rental property, click Edit to review your entries. Otherwise, add a property by following the interview to set up a new rental property.   Depending on the version of TurboTax you are using, you should eventually arrive on the Rental Summary page. From this page you can enter Rental Income or Expenses (click Start/Update).   Note that your entries create a Schedule E Worksheet (a TurboTax worksheet, not an IRS form) that displays your entries. This worksheet can be manually edited for any field highlighted in yellow. When you set up a rental asset, that information is shown on the Asset Entry Worksheet.   The result of completing the Rental Property entries is reported on Schedule E page 1, Part I.
